Description

This cottage is situated within the South Downs National Park on a working farm, close to the village of Buriton.

Situated within the South Downs National Park and close to the market town of Petersfield, this well presented, spacious holiday annex (originally single storey outer farm buildings) has been sympathetically modernised whilst retaining its original 18th century character and as such the upstairs is located in the roof space with slopiing ceiling and beams. It is attached to the owner’s farmhouse on a working arable and sheep farm close to the picturesque village of Buriton. Ideally placed for visiting Jane Austen’s house at Chawton, the Watercress Steam Railway, South Downs Way, Winchester Portsmouth and beaches at Hayling Island and the The Witterings. Shop and pubs 11/2 miles.

Ground floor: Living room with tiled floor/dining room/kitchen. Second living room with sofa bed and patio doors. First floor: 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Beams and sloping ceilings throughout.

Woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. Video. DVD. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Enclosed patio and furniture. Parking (2 cars). No smoking.

Superbly spacious and comfortable downstairs, and well equipped, however because of the dimensions of the building the bedroom is small and low ceilinged and the bathroom particularly cramped. As long as you are aware of this and can put up with it, then enjoy the living accommodation to the full. Lovely east-facing patio but nowhere to get any sun from mid afternoon or evening.

We loved the annexe only downside was sloping ceilings upstairs and shower in bath which was a bit difficult for elderly people. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. The location was excellent for getting out and about.

What a beautiful place. Extremely well equipped. I would stay again without hesitation, if we were to visit the area again. Not recommended for tall people - but we're all shortish so it didn't matter to us!

Lovely, well-equipped cottage. Mind your head on the ceilings upstairs though! (not a problem for us though as we're short). Owners very friendly. We stayed during lambing season and we're allowed to go into the sheds to show our toddler. Would definitely recommend.
