Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

With sea views from the patio, this cosy cottage is perfect for that coastal holiday with the family.

Direct access to the sea

This cosy, former detached fisherman’s cottage is situated in a marvellous setting right on the seafront. Typical of the village, the cottage sits gable end to the sea, a testament to Crovie’s rugged past, built to withstand the winter storms that can occur here.

Crovie is built on a narrow ledge with the sea just yards from the door and in the summer it is lovely to sit and look out for the marine life which passes through the area, from dolphins to seals and birds. The sea can be viewed from the patio.

Enjoy the walk to Gardenstown - a similar but larger village, or explore the villages further west, from Sandend to Portsoy and Cullen.

Shops and pubs 1.5 miles.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room. Kitchen. 1 single bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Steep stairs to first floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin, both with beams and sloping ceilings.

Open fire in living room (initial fuel included). Electric central heating included (£30per week October-April). Electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD. CD. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Freezer. Elevated and landscaped patio with furniture. Public car park. No smoking.

The property could benefit from update of kitchen and bathroom. New carpets downstairs are needed as a priority as unfortunately the carpets smelt of damp dogs. The Windows downstairs were sealed so it was difficult to try and get fresh air into the property. The location is fab and the views are spectacular!!

My partner fell down the narrow stairs and broke a bone - this despite holding the rope bannister. She is now going to be off work for a min of 8 weeks. The stairs are narrower than standard, and there are also less stair treads than standard. The stairs having caused this accident means that I can only rate this as a 1/10 - don't let that put you off the location. But please take extra care if you do decide to stay at number 10. I am not saying it's unsafe, but I am saying an accident IS significantly more likely than in a standard home.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. I am sorry to hear about the accident your partner had. The property is a former fisherman’s cottage with many original features including the stairs. The stairs are steep as advertised within the description and is stated within the welcome pack in the Cottage, hence the installation of a wooden handrail on one side of the stairs and a rope banister on the other. The property is a listed building and cannot be readily altered.
