Perfect for us, a secure garden meant the hounds could be let out without leads. A short walk to Rutland Water pathway. We'll be back.

Ideal venue for short or long break. Cosy bedroom, comfortable lounge area and fun to use dining/ kitchen. Liked the 'cottage style' furnishings. Excellent local shop selling all you could want for your stay. Welcoming and helpful hostess. Dog friendly and wifi enabled. Plenty to do or just relax.

Location suited our 3 night stay perfectly. The weather was good and enabled us to explore parts of Rutland Water on foot without taking the car out - a bonus. Oakham and Stamford are lovely market towns to explore.

We visit Rutland Water every year for birdwatching and scenery and this has been our best find yet. The cottage is lovely and peaceful and really well equipped. Well stocked village shop a mile walk along the waterfront. Good value for money in this area and the owner made us very welcome.

We spent a lovely week in this cosy cottage which is ideally situated to make the most of a stay by Rutland Water. It was very clean and was ideal to use as a base for exploring the area. A little more attention could be given to the equipment in the kitchen area, we had to buy a tin opener and a small sharp knife and a few items were a bit worse for wear, space was very limited but manageable so long as you don't want to cook a full meal.

A most enjoyable 2 weeks with everything available that one could wish for. Although a Feb/Mar holiday is not the best time to chose the cottage was warm and the water hot so the dog and I were very comfortable. The owner was very friendly and helpful seeing to our every enquiry. A pity later renters will not enjoy the most beautiful snowdrops,
