Response on behalf of the Owner; With regard to your stay, I am pleased that you enjoyed the beautiful location and close proximity to the Rutland Water. I'm sorry that you were disturbed Saturday morning by the Gardener, he usually doesn't work on Saturdays, but due to the bad weather on the Friday he was unable to garden, hence coming on Saturday morning, but not arriving until 8.30, not 7.30. As I understand, when asked to stop he did so and returned later when the cottage was empty so not to disturb. The Wi-Fi unfortunately is intermittent. There are two village shops close by, one in walking distance in the next village, Edith Weston. It is an excellent village store, offering fresh produce, fresh bread, cakes, wines, papers, post office, dry cleaning etc. The other village shop is in Empingham, again well stocked. For large supermarkets, Waitrose, Tesco, M&S, Morrison’s, Sainsbury’s etc. there is Oakham and Stamford, both less than 5 miles. I'm sorry the cakes weren't to your taste, others found them delicious, and they had been bought that morning from the Marie Clare fundraiser, as were the fresh flowers. We do have a freezer available for all to use, which is in a communal area. With regards to bikes - the majority of people are happy to stand their bikes next to the cottage in the recess, but we do have a bike store that on request bikes can be stored in.
I am always contactable on my mobile, which is the same number that was used previously by you. It’s such a pity a call wasn't made, as the above could have been very instantly resolved. I hope that you will visit again.
