There were crumbs on top of toaster. The kitchen utensils in drawer were greasy as was the grill pan and rack. There was no bread bin, kitchen bin, no pasta bowls or a potato masher. The 4 pillows were rock hard, a selection would have been nice as I had to go and buy pillows the next day. I think the welcome pack of 2 packs of crisps and 2 biscuits was a laugh...a pint of milk would have been better.

We were not welcomed by owner but by a lovely brown horse which was better. The property was spacious with a considerable amount of privacy which we enjoyed. One tip for future guests who like soft pillows is to bring one with them since the pillows provided are very full and firm.

Lovely peaceful location. The only complaint was that there was a bowl full of dirty water when we arrived and the shower could have been cleaner. Everything else was lovely and I would go back.

I would highly recommend Nollsfield Lodge as it is a very clean, quiet and comfortable place to stay. The host Peter was very friendly and helpful and even gave me a lift into Henley. It is important to speak to Peter before you arrive as the keypad is a bit tricky, for those on foot, it is possible to reach Nollsfield by bus during the week but not on weekends.

Was a lovely size and quiet location however it was so cold inside the cottage there was no proper heating and there was damp in the bathroom.

This property is not really suitable for a winter letting because it is terribly damp, particularly in the bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. Also, it has a lot of windows but none of them are double-glazed so there was a serious problem of condensation and the window-sills were running with water every morning. Although the accomodation is very nicely furnished with an excellent new bed and bedding, two very comfortable sofas and a huge TV with Freeview the kitchen was poor (no dishwasher or dryer and neither the fridge nor the washing machine working properly) and the all-electric heating was inadequate for the cold weather and one of the heaters broke down and was not fixed for the whole week before we left. Also, there was no Wi-Fi provided and although the Owner allowed us to connect to his network it was not possible without a Wi-Fi Extender which I had to buy myself. On the other hand I am sure this place would be very nice in the summer - and the Owner's retired race horse was lovely!

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. The fuse on the appliance plug has been renewed, we do keep the temperature up to an average 22c throughout the winter months and the appliance that blew its fuse is ancillary to the main heating only, it was on 24/7 blow drying washing indoors. We got our HETAS registered engineer in to test the rest (fridge, washing machine) and were found to be all working normally. We do feel that as a long term let between homes, this property was not really suitable for your needs. We do not advertise or supply a dishwasher, clothes dryer or Wi-Fi. We feel that we welcomed these guests into our home and gave them full access to our office to help them with printing, photocopying, faxing, even the use of our landline telephone, and made coffee all free of charge. As access to Wi-Fi for work purposes was required, we did allow access to our signal and offered our passwords also free of charge. We allowed the guests to move in a lot of personal belongings rather than pay for private storage. November and December are not ideal months for washing and drying clothes indoors which resulted in condensation on the inside of the windows.
