Set in 15 acres of grounds, this attractive cottage boasts a spacious conservatory and a large enclosed garden. Pickering and the North York Moors are within easy reach.

Located only 6 miles from the historic city of York, this cottage is part of a group which have been recently renovated to an extremely high standard having been equipped and furnished with top quality fittings and fixtures. Tasteful co-ordinating soft furnishings have been used, and each light bright property has a cosy open fire set in attractive red brick surround. Attached to most of the properties are lovely private enclosed patios and lawned gardens, making a safe place for the younger children to play - barbecues, portable paddling pools and outdoor toys are available. The indoor heated swimming pool, which is open daily all year round - for the exclusive use of the visitors to Claxton Grange - has full changing and shower facilities, also a spacious conservatory to relax in which opens onto a large enclosed lawned area for sunnier days. For the more energetic there is a full sized outdoor tennis court and games room.

This property can be booked together with No 3 Chippendale (DC3200) and No 7 Bennett (DC3204) to accommodate up to 15 guests.

Ground Floor: With oil fired central heating and comprising:
Sitting room: with fire, TV and video.
Kitchen/dining room: with electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and dishwasher.

First Floor: Bedroom 1: with double bed.
Bedroom 2: with twin beds.
Bedroom 3: with twin beds.
Bathroom: with three piece suite and shower over bath.

Fuel for the open fires in each property can be purchased at cost. Bed linen and towels provided. Cot and highchair available on request. Garden furniture, barbecue and outdoor toys. Shared laundry room with washer and dryer, iron/ironing board. Private parking. Sorry no pets. Non smokers preferred. Additional facilities: Indoor heated swimming pool.     Great location, however... dirty accommodation, facilities on site in need of serious upgrade. Visible pest control devices in what is billed as a family friendly place. Such a shame as it really wouldn't take much to turn this place around.

I am very sorry that you were not fully satisfied with your accommodation, we state within our guest manual, if there are any concerns during your stay, please use one of the many contact number so your concerns can be addressed. Had we been notified that you were not fully satisfied with the accommodation, we would have actioned this and rectified the problem by way of arranging for the domestic team to re-clean the cottage or alternatively transfer you to another property. We are approaching the end of Peak Season of which the cottages and facilities will undergo redecoration, we are unable to carry this out in peak season due to the small turn around between guests leaving and arriving. This is something we can now action and we have a team of decorators already commenced re-decoration on cottages which are unoccupied. With regards to the pest control devices, these are preventative devices due to the rural location. There are lots of acres of open grass land and trees surrounding the site of which although very picturesque! can also attract unwanted pests. The devices are to prevent unwanted pests and we try to situate these out of view where possible.

    Really enjoyed staying here. Only comment is that the games room could do with an update/tlc
