Set within Exmoor National Park, this property offers guest to enjoy the natural wonders of the whole area.

In the village of Porlock on Exmoor National Park and nestling between Porlock Hill and the sea, 1 mile, these converted ships mews, formerly stables, and detached dormer bungalow offer sea views of Porlock Bay and make an excellent holiday location to enjoy the natural wonders of Exmoor and the dramatic coastline in this region. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on the moors, and many places to visit to make a memorable holiday. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watermeet Gorge (NT), valley of the rocks and the funicular cliff railway are well worth a visit, or looking towards Minehead, you can go back in time on the scenic West Somerset Steam Railway, or visit the enchanting medieval Dunster Castle (NT), with its beautiful terraced gardens, Deer Park and Mill making for an interesting day out. Nearer home you can wine and dine in the owner’s adjacent public house and restaurant, the 13th-century Ship Inn, or enjoy the fine selection of unusual shops in this pretty traditional village. There is also fishing, golf, horse riding and cycling all available, or further afield the resorts of Ilfracombe, Combe Martin and Woolacombe are well worth a visit. Shops 200 yards, pub/restaurant 100 yards.

    Ideal location numerouse dog friendly pub restaurants in town, good local walks. Very enjoyable stay.

    We loved it, could'nt find fault at all,very comfortable, lovely area,plenty of eating places in the village of Porlock and surrounding area.Very good base for a holiday.

    Trouble was cooking facilities inadequate, small two ring portable stove which had to be used away from tight sink area and would have steamed up studio had I used it. Only one of everything so that I bought extra odds and ends. N0 wifi which most offer so couldn't use mobile phone.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at the ships mews. The ships mews was lovely. Cozy and warm with a pub on your doorstep. Porlock was beautiful and was central to a lot of places to visit. Our doggie loved it as much as us. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

    Great location for walks and friendly pub next to it, food was fantastic. Cobwebs and spiders in the basic bathroom. Didn't look like it had been cleaned for months. Pull out bed was stained and filthy. Smelt damp.

It is a great shame that you did not let me know of any issues when we would have had the opportunity to do something about your observations and put any issues right. The bookings we have had in Mews 1 were for couples so unaware of why the sofa bed was used as a bed? We have many happy returning guests who feel that for an open plan Apartment, the Mews is well equipped and comfortable.

    the room looked better on the photos than we felt it was. it was difficult using kitchen electrical equipment due to position of sockets. there were many good places to eat in the village so we didn't need to cook. while we were there the cost of the room was more than those in the Ship pub which included breakfast

    Response on behalf of the Owner; The Mews is an open plan studio apartment (30x15ft), and, as such, is a well-equipped property with many happy and repeat guests. We are sorry to hear you thought a room in the pub was better value.

    Great location although opening the front door onto the pub car park is a little strange. Very handy for sitting in the garden a little walk away across the car park with a pint. Couple of issues that the owner fixed very promptly
