The location is ideal, and we have stayed in a number of rentals in and around the area. Unfortunately this cottage did not meet out expectations, but is was value for money. On arrival the cottage was cold, as it took 3 days to get to a reasonable temperature, we now know why it had so many hot water bottles! The extractor over the oven was unusable as the switch was hanging loose and in our opinion dangerous. We could not hoover the sitting room as the cottage did not have one, but we did what we could to keep the floor clean. Also cobwebs hung from the stairway ceiling, and needed to be removed. The parking is totally unacceptable, but money was left by the owners which allowed 1 weeks parking in a local public car park. This we queried before we paid the final invoice and was assured by a representative of the letting company that arrangements for parking outside the cottage where in place as there was ample on road parking, which didn't require the time limited disc available. One plus was the owners had baked a delicious cake, which was very much appreciated, thank you. We will return to

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Agency; Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review. We were so sorry to hear that you had problems whilst you stayed at the cottage. It is normally very warm and cosy with the gas central heating and so we were very surprised that you found it cold. The cleaning is also normally kept to a high standard as may be seen by other reviewers’ scores in the past. Due to changes in the permit scheme, the Owner now leaves enough money for guests to purchase a weekly permit from a nearby machine. This allows parking in several town car parks. The parking immediately outside the cottage is on a first come first serve basis and is not covered by the permit scheme. On the positive side we were so pleased that you found the cottage to be value for money and in an ideal location! It was also nice to hear that you would return again!

Very convenient location being a short, level walk into Richmond which is interesting with the lovely old buildings. Parking was often available outside the cottage, with some time restrictions. Cottage was warm and bed extremely comfy. Lots to see and do both locally and further afield. Gorgeous cake on arrival was a bonus!
