Description

In an AONB, guests can enjoy this peaceful holiday cottage by the sea, ideal for couples, friends and families of 4.

Coastal working farm with spectacular sea views.

Set on a 500-acre National Trust farm at Wembury point within the glorious coastline of the South Hams, this spacious cottage enjoys stunning sea views adjoining the owners’ farmhouse. New Barton Cottage’s location is superb – just 250 yards from the magnificent South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to the Wembury Bay marine conservation area, there’s a plethora of things to see and do in the area. The busy working farm stocks beef cattle and sheep, surrounded by picturesque arable land, and there’s also a small wedding venue barn for hire on site. Nearby, Wembury’s beach features rock pools, a National Trust café, horse riding and a sandy beach that’s popular with tourists in the summer. Here you will also find the South Devon coastal footpath, so don’t forget to bring your camera, as there are stunning coastal vistas of Mewstone Island and across Plymouth Sound to the Cornish coastline. On a clear day, you can even spot the lonely Eddystone Lighthouse, standing vigilantly 13 miles off shore. Shop, PO and pub 1½ miles.

Ground floor: Kitchen. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet. First floor: Living room. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Separate toilet.

Oil central heating and bed linen included. Towel hire. Cot. High chair. Digital TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Oil Aga. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer on request. Freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed garden with patio and furniture. Barbecue. Parking.

The cottage was very cozy and was well equipped, the location was perfect for walks at the beach and it was a good base for many places to visit, the cottage is so clean, you can't even tell that dogs are allowed to stay there, spending a week here was worth every penny and it would be a dream to visit this cottage again.

Cottage lovely. Only problems were (1) new sofas needed and (2) a working Hoover. Good views and spacious rooms with wonderful views. A walker/dog walkers paradise. Very friendly hosts.

The two best things about this cottage is the view, amazing! The second is the aga, great for baking. You can walk straight from the front door across a field to the coastal path and down to Wembury beach, great for dogs and rock pooling!

We booked the barns for daughter's wedding so it was ideal to be on site.

Only wifi in the kitchen and no signal anywhere else. This has pros and cons but sometimes it's hard being out of contact. It's bigger here than the pics look and friendly hosts. Had an amazing time. Very comfy beds!

A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting with views to die for and fantastic owners. Highly recommended. It is larger than the photos show and well appointed with an AGA thrown in for good measure. Enjoy the entertaining peacocks - tremendous fun!

Stayed here for a week in July. A beautiful part of the country with fabulous views. Comfortable accommodation, could do with a wifi booster box as can only get it sat in the kitchen. (Needed it for family)

This was a return visit and was as wonderful as before. Peace, walks, views not to be missed. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and warm and very well equipped. The owners also were very welcoming and were on hand should the need arise. A return visit isn not out of the question.
