Description

In an AONB, guests can enjoy this peaceful holiday cottage by the sea, ideal for couples, friends and families of 4.

Coastal working farm with spectacular sea views.

Set on a 500-acre National Trust farm at Wembury point within the glorious coastline of the South Hams, this spacious cottage enjoys stunning sea views adjoining the owners’ farmhouse. New Barton Cottage’s location is superb – just 250 yards from the magnificent South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to the Wembury Bay marine conservation area, there’s a plethora of things to see and do in the area. The busy working farm stocks beef cattle and sheep, surrounded by picturesque arable land, and there’s also a small wedding venue barn for hire on site. Nearby, Wembury’s beach features rock pools, a National Trust café, horse riding and a sandy beach that’s popular with tourists in the summer. Here you will also find the South Devon coastal footpath, so don’t forget to bring your camera, as there are stunning coastal vistas of Mewstone Island and across Plymouth Sound to the Cornish coastline. On a clear day, you can even spot the lonely Eddystone Lighthouse, standing vigilantly 13 miles off shore. Shop, PO and pub 1½ miles.

Ground floor: Kitchen. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet. First floor: Living room. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Separate toilet.

Oil central heating and bed linen included. Towel hire. Cot. High chair. Digital TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Oil Aga. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer on request. Freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed garden with patio and furniture. Barbecue. Parking.

This was a return visit and was as wonderful as before. Peace, walks, views not to be missed. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and warm and very well equipped. The owners also were very welcoming and were on hand should the need arise. A return visit isn not out of the question.

Fabulous location, great views, clean, comfy bed and well equipped kitchen. However the beach isn't as easy to get to as you'd first think and has restrictions for dogs depending on the time of year you visit. Charlotte and Tim are very welcoming as are their lovely dogs, Libby, Teddy and Maisy. They are on hand if needed and more than happy to give you a steer for places to visit. A lovely couple. Downside - no remote for the DVD player, uncomfortable sofas. Other places we've stayed at, have had a few nice touches on arrival (cake, wine, tea, coffee, fresh milk, biscuits etc) you won't find that here but at the same time it doesn't spoil holiday, it would be just a nice touch.

Faded splendour, but extremely lovely and quiet location which is very close to the coastal path - wonderful.

Loved staying at New Barton Farm; we used the cottage and barns as the venue for my daughters wedding. It was a perfect setting and Charlotte and Tim were charming and helpful. The cottage is homely and comfortable and a great base for exploring the South Devon Coast. We hope to go back for just a holiday next time. Loved it.

A lovely place to relax and unwind, the views, walks and surrounding areas were stunning. Tim and Charlotte were the perfect hosts together with Maisie, Libby and Teddy oh I mustn't forget Goliath and his hareem. The cottage was far bigger than we expected and very comfortable.

Lovely cottage, warm, homely. Do need new sofas as they were very uncomfortable. Wifi only available now and then and in the kitchen, no phone signal, so if this is important to you..this is not the place for you. Other than the few negatives we loved this place and would deffo return

Beautiful location, perfect advert for the gorgeous Devon countryside. The aga was great to use and the view from the lounge is stunning ! Could do with some proper tools for the open fire.

Lovely rural location with fabulous scenic walks along the coast path and river valley and just a 15 walk to Wembury beach. Comfortable accommodation, although the small shared children's bedroom will make it tricky for us to stay as our children get older, but it's fine for family with two young children who like to share a room. Breathtaking views from the sitting room. Peaceful. The owners Charlotte and Tim were helpful and friendly.
