Had a wonderful time at the cottage. Great location for the south of Cornwall. Fantastic facilities for our family of 6. Parking very good. Overall a very peaceful, relaxing, comfortable cottage. Very friendly and kind proprietor who greated us warmly. Perfect week holiday regardless of the weather.

Lovely cottage, well equipped, clean and tidy. Pat was very welcoming and had left fresh flowers, fresh fruit, milk, tea and coffee. Local pub serves excellent food and are very welcoming. Yes you have to drive to main supermarkets and to the sea but we knew that when we booked. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

The cottage has everything you need for a lovely holiday, to get away from it all, but only 8 miles from Penzance. Mrs Batten made us very welcome.

Unfortunately there is far too much work that needs to be done to bring it up the standard of the other cottages we have stayed at. There was no key to the back door and was only locked by one single bolt, which didn't work all the time. The mattresses were old and worn out, the same as the furniture. The front door was hit and miss as to whether it locked or not and was difficult to use. Unfortunately, I wouldn't stay at this cottage again. Wasn't value for money that we paid.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: The doors were made by the people who built the property and locks are no longer made for them, complete new doors would have to been made to have new locks, there are 2 sturdy locks on the door, 1 top and 1 bottom. A new lock has been fitted to the front door. The mattress are Silentnight ones and are under 4 years old.

Cottage lovely, sadly the property was not cleaned, nor linen changed during the middle weekend, I found this aspect disappointing. I do not use bed linen and towels at home for two weeks and I do not expect to on holiday!

Curlew Cottage suited our needs perfectly. It's in a lovely, peaceful location within easy walking distance of a (dog-friendly) pub serving good food and of Prussia Cove where dogs are allowed year round. Views from the property and field are superb. Everything else you want to visit in SW Cornwall is within easy reach. We are a family of five with a large dog so three separate bedrooms and two bathrooms made things easy. The lovely garden and accessible field at the back ( as the ponies were away) were ideal for the children and for exercising our Retriever. As others have said the lounge/dining/kitchen would be a bit tight for six adults but this was about the only compromise. Standard of finish and equipment are high and the owner Pat was very welcoming. When you holiday with a dog you have to think 'dog' (and 'kids') all the time especially when the weather's hot and Curfew Cottage turned out to be a good choice in view of this.

Extremely good value for money, a very warm welcome from the owner and everything we needed was available. I would recommend this cottage to anyone
