Description

This single-storey property is in an elevated position offering fantastic sea views in an AONB.

These two very comfortable semi-detached holiday cottages (26817 and 26818) occupy a stunning elevated position on a mixed working farm on the headland just outside the beautiful village of Pennan. Both properties boast fantastic sea views; Mill Shore Cottage has a cosy living room which features windows on two sides allowing uninterrupted viewing of Mill Shore below – a secluded shingle beach with sandy shallows beyond, offering a unique perspective on the abundant marine life – seals can be spotted easily in the bay, whilst further out whales and dolphins are often sighted. Pennan Lodge again has marvellous views of Pennan itself and the bay beyond. In addition to the amazing marine life, just round the corner and visible from the cottages is Troup Head, a renowned nature reserve featuring the only UK mainland colony of gannets. Next door is Cullykhan Beach, another secluded cove reached by a steep walk down to the shore. Pennan is renowned for its famous phone box as featured in the film ’Local Hero’ but it is a lovely village in its own right, typical of those strung out along this rugged coastline, including Crovie and Gardenstown, reached by steep winding roads to the bottom of the cliffs from which they cling. This is an AONB providing wonderful areas for walking. Shop and restaurant 4 miles, pub ¼ mile.

All on ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Oil central heating included. Freeview TV. Microwave.

Both properties: Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot on request. DVD. Electric cooker. Washing machine. Two tumble dryers in garage. Wi-fi. Enclosed lawned garden, sitting-out area and furniture. Barbecue. Ample parking. Shared cycle store. Shared external games room with air hockey, table tennis and small pool table. Welcome pack. No smoking.

We were totally pleased with this nice and beautiful cottage. The surroundings were fantastic, nice sheep, cows ,pony and the extremely beautyful view over the sea and the nearby beach. We really felt at home in this cosy cottage and there is plenty to be seen nearby. What a fantastic place to live at! We´ve never had such a stunning view directly out of a cottage befor. So even when it rains it`s fantastic to look out over the sea...

Lovely comfortable cottage with the best view ever from the comfort of your living room. Everything you would wish for to make a relaxing break by the sea. Not far from the local towns and sites of interest. Worth visiting the Gannet colony at the nearby RSBP site buetiful walks along the secluded shores and cliffs. Near enough to Fraserborough to buy provisions at good supermarkets. If one critism is that I feel grab rails should be put over bath for shower use! Would definitely go back.
