We have stayed at Natterjack Cottage 3 times now and are looking forward to returning. It is our favourite location and the only cottage we keep returning too even though we have visited many others that may be better equipped or more modern. Natterjack has everything we need and the dog loves it.

A lovely location right by the sea. Would have benefitted from provision of towels.

Would only recommend for 2. Or 3 people. Kitchen and living room abit small for 5. Kitchen and bathroom in need of modernisation.

The cottage was lovely, clean and very well equiped. The beds were very comfy which is just what you need after a long day walking. The views were fabulous. The milk in the fridge along with tea and coffee was very welcome on are arrival (Thank you)

The area was depressing. Looks much better on the brochure than it actually is. There was a major damp smell in the cottage when we arrived, it transpired this was due to a leak in the shower outlet which got worse as our stay progressed and turned into a flood the day before the last one. When I called the owner to inform him, they said they knew about it and had 'tried to fix it'. In my opinion this is not good enough, the carpets in the two rooms on either side were soaked through the last two days of our stay, very uncomfortable conditions. The outside of the building also looks very run down and nothing in the brochure warns you of the fact that most of the other buildings in the complex are private residences and depressingly run down looking. Not a good place for a holiday.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are very sorry to hear that you had such an unpleasant stay in our cottage in Haverigg, and would like to apologise for any problems you encountered during your stay. The day we were made aware about the problem, my son and wife immediately drove up to the cottage, replaced the damaged carpet, repaired damage to the plumbing (a cracked shower water outlet) and cleaned and thoroughly sorted out the affected areas. This would have been done earlier in your stay had we been notified, we are sorry that you had to put up with it for so long. This problem was completely unrelated to one (a leak from the balcony) we had in previous years; this must have been a miscommunication over the phone. Then, (about a year ago) we resealed, re tiled and refurbished the balcony and all affected areas.

This was the second time I have stayed at Natterjack Cottage but this time with my daughter and 8 year old grandson. The weather wasn't great - rain and strong winds most of the time - but we still had a great time and will definitely be back with grandson!

lovely clean and well equipped cottage. fantastic views but not a great deal in the village, but it is a village. Supermarket in Millom which suited us. Perfect for a total relaxing time, being Landlords of a pub it was lovely to have a home where we could sightsee in the day and relax on the sofa at night.

Lovely cottage with fabulous views, situated in a small village with a store for essentials, Tesco in the next town. Neighbours very friendly considering that we were only visitors. Definately would stay again.

Brilliant - have been 3 times and would go again! Perhaps not ideal for a family with young children but perfect for more 'mature' children! It is the place to relax!
