Sitting peacefully in National Trust’s Dolmelynllyn Estate, this 19th-century quirky cottage enjoys spectacular scenery.

National Trust Holiday Cottage.

This small, comfortable cottage lies in a secluded woodland setting on the National Trust’s Dolmelynllyn Estate in the Snowdonia National Park. A charming cottage with a quirky layout, ideal for romantic getaways. Predominantly of timber construction, it was built in the 19th-century as an observatory, housing a telescope for nearby Dolmelynllyn Hall, which is now a hotel and restaurant. The scenery is spectacular and varied, and Nant Las enjoys views across the valley to rugged hill country. Nearby, and easily accessible by footpath, is Rhaiadr Ddu, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Wales. Its south Snowdonia location provides an excellent base for exploring the heart of North Wales, from the Dyfi Estuary to the West Wales coastline, and on up through the Snowdonia mountain range. The Coed-y-Brenin Forest, Harlech Castle, Portmeirion, King Arthur’s Labyrinth, the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway, Betws Y Coed and the Llyn Peninsula are within easy driving distance. Beach 8 miles. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 220 yards.
