In the opposite direction is Plymouth with something everyone, including the historical port with its Navy connections, aquarium, theatre, shops and museums. The breathtaking scenery of Dartmoor National Park is only 40 minutes away from its southern tip of Ivybridge. There are many National Trust properties, stately homes and interesting gardens within a short drive. Local shop/post office 200 yards, pub 150 yards.

This is a lovely cottage. It is really well equipped with thoughtful additions like a freshly baked cake and a pint of milk ready for our arrival. It is right on the road but that was made very clear in the description and the bedrooms face the back with lovely views. It is well located near stunning coast. The village has a shop and pub which is friendly and serves good food. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there.

Very welcoming, a cream tea and milk were left for us. Main bedroom was very small and the bed was noisy. Bathroom was very small and no grab rail for the in bath shower and not a decent mirror. The oven took ages to heat up. It was very well equipped but we have been to other cottages where there were games and videos for children. A tumble drier would be useful considering the weather you can get in the West country and it is in a beach/sailing area.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I am glad you had a lovely time in Devon - I spoke to your wife as you had accidently taken something from the Cottage home in error. I asked about the oven and there were no reported problems. I have tried to put a selection of games / books / DVD’s in the Cottage but obviously unable to cater for all ages. As you had lovely weather, the towels would have dried really quickly in the sunny south facing garden. The description in the brochure gives you a list of what is available in the Cottage and with pictures of most of the rooms.

We had a wonderful couple of days at Myrtle Cottage and would have liked longer! The cottage had been decorated for Christmas so it felt lovely as soon as we walked in. Everywhere was spotless, the kitchen was very well equipped and even a chocolate Yule log left out for us! The wood burner was out of action which was a shame but the heating was more than adequate. The cottage was easy to find with the directions but parking is round the corner on the next street so you would need to keep an eye on children as the road is quite busy. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

the cottage was lovely, a great location for us as my dad lives in the village, however the double bed needs replacing it is so uncomfortable that I barely slept for the whole week which really took the enjoyment out of our holiday, I would only return if a new bed was put in, therefore I thought the cost for the week was far too expensive to not sleep in a comfortable bed!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your review of the cottage and how much you liked the cottage – except for the bed. We have had lovely reviews in our guest book at the cottage and the bed has not been mentioned before. The bed has been replaced in the last year and a bed is very subjective – some like a soft bed, some a hard bed. However, as I would hate to spoil anybodies holiday, I have taken these comments on board and have purchased a topper which hopefully will suit all.
