Thoroughly enjoyable holiday in an out of the way location. Quiet and rural being able to get away from it. Helpful owner with accomodation having everything you needed.

We were made very welcome. The home made bread and bottle of wine were very welcome. Thoughtful that tea coffee and milk etc were provided. Studio is compact but not cramped. Our dog was also made welcome with her own treats. Cottage is wellequipped . My husband did miss his dishwasher but enjoyed his walks with the dog. He particularly enjoyed the night sky. Beautiful part of the country. Lots to see and do in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished it was longer. Would not hesitate to return.

Really enjoyed our stay at Mycroft. Lovely cosy studio made a great base for exploring Northumberland and borders. Kielder forest is on the doorstep and a must. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming to us and our dog and catered for our late arrival with fresh homemade bread, tea tray and biscuits and a bottle of fizz. Would recommend...a little stressfree hideaway!!!

We chose this cottage based on price, good reviews and its location. The cottage is located on the edge of the Gold Tier International Dark Sky Park perfect for seeing the stars without any light pollution. We had a number of clear skies at night and you could see the milky way with our naked eyes. It was absolutely perfect and so was the home made bread and the bottle of bucks fizz that was provided to us when we arrived. We found the cottage to be exactly what we expected and the owners have thought of everything you should and could require as there was nothing that we needed. We also knew that the cottage was in a remote location and we prepared for this in advance. The description matched our expectations. Paul has an extensive amount of knowledge about the area and is the PERFECT HOST as far as I’m concerned! He advised me where to visit based on my purpose for the visit and not only is he friendly, he has what a good host should have, passion to ensure his guests thoroughly enjoy their stay.

A perfect base from which to explore the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. True, you have to travel to reach some local amenities but if you keep an open mind about this it can easily be accommodated. The owners went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Would definitely stay there again, possibly during the winter months so I could visit Northumbria Dark Sky Park.
