The house was huge - plenty of room for 3 families, the kitchen was very well-equipped, the pool was a good size and there were sufficient sun loungers for most of us. There was a Weber BBQ, fans in all the adults' bedrooms (and we needed it due to a heatwave). We were able to eat our meals at the large table on the patio facing the pool, surrounded by a working vineyard with the noise of the ciccadas to keep us company as the sun came up. It was a very peaceful place but not so remote that you felt cut off from things. The nearest supermarket (Super U) was just outside Murviel on the road to Beziers (not open on Sunday mornings). The welcome from the neighbour Sylvie was very warm and we enjoyed seeing her menagerie (5 tortoises including the lovely Marie Claude, two nutty dogs (Fitou and Dandy) plus wonderful Napoleon the donkey. There are a few little niggles, one being lack of wifi so for those of us trying to stay in contact with work it was a bit frustrating. Also the property is at the end of a mile of farm track - quite bumpy in places and we had to take all our rubbish to the communal bins on the track near the main road or to the recycling bins a couple of miles up the road. I'm used to the latter, but not usually for kitchen waste as well. So take plenty of bin bags! Finally it would be helpful to have either more parasols for the pool (beware of the wind...they take off!) or some kind of permanent gazebo as the pool is in unrelentingly full sun - it's not really possible to sit out by the pool eg to doze or read unless you want the total sunbathing experience (while keeping an eye on a flying parasol if it gets windy!) However all things considered, we had a great time and had a very relaxing holiday. There is a great canoe/kayak centre just up the road in Reals which I would thoroughly recommend - very handy for this property.
