We booked for a week away with our extended family. Knott view was very competitavely priced vs the competition and overall represented fair value for money. The house is large with a well equipped kitchen, giant dining table and lounge with plenty of seating. The decor and furnishings are functional giving the property a utilitarian feel. For this reason, it's ideal for large group bookings. For a family break away, there are a couple of points which detracted from our overall enjoyment. Knott View is attached to another large holiday let and parking facilities are shared. Across the bank holiday we were booked in the adjoining occupants had 9 cars parked outside which made parking our own vehicles difficult. The people staying next door were not especially rowdy but with such a large group, they generated a fair amount of noise which was easily transmitted into knott view. The property is evidently pet friendly and probably our biggest disappointment was to discover all the sofas in the lounge covered in animal hair. One thing to be aware of when booking Knott View is the long country track to access the property. Its absolutely fine in the car but is a fair walk to the village and at night the uneven surface makes for a challenging trek in the pitch black. If you're a group of walkers looking for a well equipped base to explore the lake district, knott view is a reasonable choice. If you're part of a group looking for a quiet and relaxing break away, I'd probably recommend you look elsewhere.

Excellent in every way, fantastically well equipped, very clean and tidy, superb value for money. We're already looking at booking for another trip in the summer as a long weekend wasn't enough to get out and explore the local area.

We had a great time celebrating my 40th Birthday at Muncaster Castle Nott View. I greatly appreciated the call from the housekeeper in the run up to our stay to discuss room allocation etc. We also greatly appreciated the assistance and attention to detail of the staff at the Pennington Hotel.

A wonderful location to get around the Western Lakes District and the grounds within the Muncaster Castle where residents of this holiday let will get 50% off the entrance fee. This castle is certainly worth a visit and the Bird of Prey show is one of the best we have seen full of fun and great handling of the birds. The gardens are lovely and the view fantastic within Muncaster Castle and from the holiday let where we have wonderful sunsets. The food around Ravenglass is great as well and you have to book to get a sitting for dinner and worth every penny spent and the food delicious esp the Fish & Chips and much more too! The steam engine ride at your door step too and gives you great accessibility for walking . The house picture does it little credit but the interior of Knott View is full of character and it is very well equipped and the facilities are great comforts away from home. You could cook a dinner party if you so wish with the cooking facilities they give you. The grounds are massive and lots of animals and birds around and love the Turkey who is the family pet and do have an attitude too ---- so adorable! We will certainly return again.
