Guests here at the characterful Mulberry Cottage can enjoy a lovely twenty minute walk to the beautiful Elbury Cove.

Set in a tranquil conservation area on the edge of Churston Ferrers, this 18th-century listed stone barn has been converted and is full of character - with exposed beams and trusses, stripped wood floors and exposed stone walls, and is set in in a lawned, cobbled and gravelled courtyard. Pretty Elbury Cove is a 20-minute walk and Broadsands beach and the old fishing port of Brixham are a few minutes’ drive. Take a steam train to Kingswear, ferry to Dartmouth, or visit Paignton Zoo, Dartmoor and many National Trust properties. Shops 2 miles, pubs ½ mile.

Beamed living room with wooden floor, French doors to cobbled and gravelled courtyard. Beamed, well-equipped kitchen/dining room. Double bedroom. Shower room, toilet. Spiral stairs to first floor: Double bedroom (5ft bed), rugs on wooden floor, en-suite shower room, toilet. We enjoyed our week. Everything was good except the shared courtyard was not very convenient for our 2 dogs.

We stayed with 2 friends and our dog. The cottage appears to be a barn conversion so is rustic in appearance. It has 3 decent sized bedrooms, all of which are en suite, although 2 are a little cramped. The double bedroom upstairs has only one opening window, which is set in the roof. Behind it outside is a rather smelly barn, which might be the source of unpleasant odours in hot weather! There is a big kitchen diner, which is well equipped. The lounge is well furnished but perhaps a little small given that the property could sleep 7. There is limited outdoor space, however. The property is situated in a courtyard where there are 5 other properties, some of which appear to be occupied full time. For families this could be a problem. The property is well situated and close to both Brixham and Paignton. The nearby steam railway is worth a trip. There is easy access by ferry across the river to Dartmouth. There are 3 supermarkets within a few miles.

Lovely cottage we all enjoyed our stay. We came as a family from different parts of uk. We chose Mulberry as it had 3 bathrooms and was not far from Brixham. It was well equipped, But shame we couldn't find the BBQ which we wanted to use one afternoon (tried to contact the owner but she never got back to us) we also had an issue with Tumble dryer it didn't work and as we had a baby with us we had to dry his clothes on the airer. Its a shame that it shares a court yard the extent of which is not obvious from the photo.

Excellent facilities and cottage, only downside was the washer dryer didnt actually dry so we had to use the clothes maiden or the heating which wasnt ideal. The old chap who owns the MX5 moaned at our two children for playing in the courtyard, nothing rowdy or dangerous just kids playing! The very same man was also ignorant to us when he allowed the car park to be totally blocked when having his puncture repaired, no apology or anything just plain ignorant, everyone else in the courtyard especially our next door neighbours were friendly and welcoming. The cottage! Very well equiped, comfortable and exceptionally clean we will definitely return here as the cottage is just far enough out of Brixham to watch the stars at night without light polution and near enough to walk to the pub!

A nicely converted barn in a great location. Facilities are very good - well equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting room and bedrooms. And because this will matter if you visit with teenagers: reliable wifi. Overall, a very nice cottage in easy reach of some good days out.
