An excellent selection of traditional pubs is on hand along with the villages famous Hawkshead Brewery.

    The property was lovely and clean and had everything you needed for your stay. The only thing that was disappointing was the bed very uncomfortable and very squeaky but it would not stop going back.

    A good value if slightly tired cottage. Very comfortable and reasonably well equipped - just needed a bit of a spruce up decoratively. Staveley is a great base for exploring and there are some excellent walks from the village. The Hawkshead Brewery tap room is a good spot for beer and food - though short opening hours. We and our dog Dottie had a great week - regardless of the 'soft' Cumbrian weather.

    It was in a very convenient spot. But the stairs proved difficult as there was only one banister rail and stairs are narrow as we are older it did prove difficult. Could have a warmer bed cover.

    We enjoyed our stay and loved the location, the cottage was great and served more than its purpose.
