Description

Offering fantastic surroundings with wonderful views and a sandy beach, this is ideal for family getaways or a romantic retreat.

Enjoying lovely views and sunsets over Loch Sween and Jura, Cruinn (ref URW) and Moy ( ref UXU) are comfortable holiday cottages on the owner’s working farm. Cruinn stands beside natural woodland, and Moy is situated within a wooded glade and offers opportunities to watch deer from the windows or explore the seashore where seals and otters may be spotted playing. This secluded peninsula abounds with birds, flowers and wildlife, with seals, otters, deer and badgers. There are several sandy beaches and opportunities for walking, cycling, riding and boating. Ancient Castle Sween, Kilmartin Glen and the ruined chapels at Kilmory and Keills add archaeological interest. There are opportunities to view the beavers in Knapdale Forest or visit Taynuish Nature Reserve. Lochgilphead (16 miles) offers shops, restaurants, a golf course and an indoor swimming-pool, while a seafood meal can be enjoyed at picturesque Tayvallich or Crinan. Shops 16 miles.

Ideal rural location, helpful and friendly owners. Great views from the cottage. As we are kayakers we would have preferred closer access to the shore. The owners were kind enough to allow us to leave our kayaks at their shore property.

Moy is a fantastic place to stay. It is Well equipped clean and comfortable. The view of Loch Sween and waking up to deer in the garden, make it extraordinary. There is a small sandy beach 3 miles away ( you need to walk to it from the road) and a shore walk by the loch five hundred metres from Moy itself. There are fantastic shells, loads of starfish and hermit crabs 🦀. My ten year old boy was in his element skimming stones in the loch. We had plans to do day trips but didn't bother, as there was plenty to occupy us nearby. Nice lunches and good tea and cake at both Crinan and Tayvallich. Lots of forestry commission land nearby, with good walks. We did a beaver walk and an Art walk at Taynish. Loved it, loved it,loved it - best property we've stayed in by a mile.
