English Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

With horse riding, golf, fishing and walking available nearby, this property is the ideal base to enjoy an active holiday.

These two delightful cottages are only 60 yards from sandy beaches and both enjoy some sea views over Mount’s Bay. Forming an adjoining pair, they stand on the main street of the ancient, silk-trading town of Marazion. Both holiday cottages enjoy their own south-facing garden and patio with garden furniture. In the bay, rising out of the sea and topped by its magnificent castle, is St Michael’s Mount (NT) – reached on foot at low tide, otherwise by ferry. There are shops, pubs, restaurants, sailing and windsurfing within yards, and nearby are cliff-top walks and excellent bird-watching on Marazion Marshes. Penzance (3 miles) is a relaxed town with many amenities and boat trips to the Isles of Scilly. Riding, golf and sea-fishing nearby. Shops 200 yards. Several pubs locally.

Open-plan living/dining room with open fire and fully fitted kitchen area. Door to rear patio. Pine staircase to first floor: Double bedroom with fireplace (ornamental only) and sea views. Bunk bedroom with sloping ceiling. Small bathroom with over-bath shower and

Another fantastic break in this beautiful & cosy cottage. Highly recommended , it’s the perfect place to return to after a day exploring the local area.

We had a wonderful few days in Marazion, welcomed by the owner and a cream tea! It was at the time of the tail end of hurricane Ophelia - rain and gale force winds and the sea was spectacular and powerful. So much so, a lot of Marazion had been hit by power cuts and several restaurants and hotels were unable to open on our first night. Hobbits was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need for a home from home stay. Unfortunately, previous guests appeared to have put a few unwashed glasses back in the cupboard, however I would not expect the owner to look at absolutely everything at the end of each let. We would happily go back to Hobbits as a base for that area of Cornwall - thank you!

The holiday we had at The Hobbit was lovely peaceful and relaxing . The lady that owns the cottage was very helpful and friendly. The small touches made a difference, scones with jam and cream in the fridge and flowers on the table. The bed was very comfortable and the towels and bed linen were of very good quality. We would definitely go back for another stay.

Excellent cottage , just a few yards from the Marazion beach and causeway to St. Michael's Mount. Well equipped and cosy (lots of coal provided for the open fire). Good quality furniture, bed linen, towels etc. Lots of crockery and kitchen gadgets. Good value for an out of season short break, which is what we did.

Lovely quaint cottage in a great location with plenty of local amenities within walking distance. Owner was very welcoming and helpful, and furnished the cottage with fresh flowers and even a cream tea! Would visit again.
