Description

This unique, Retro-style holiday property is the perfect base for touring Cornwall or simply relaxing and watching the ever changing vista.

This amazing Retro-style property provides guests with a stunning location, perched high above the beautiful beach and quaint harbour of Sennen Cove, with uninterrupted, panoramic sea and coastal views, with unrivalled views across the beach, harbour and down the coast towards Cape Cornwall, Sennen Point and Lands End.

Great for families, friends or couples looking for that perfect location in which to unwind and enjoy this very unique and truly special part of Cornwall. Sennen is a popular destination all year round attracting visitors for its beautiful long white sandy beach, the ideal spot for bathing in crystal clear waters, taking a picnic, strolling barefoot along the beach in the summer, and equally appealing walking on a wind swept day with the waves crashing, and storm watching during the winter months.

With great facilities close by, enjoy a drink, afternoon tea or evening meal at the popular beach café/restaurant with its wide expanse of glass balcony directly overlooking the beach. Sennen has a great local pub serving local food and ales, and a farmers’ market every Tuesday.

The property is within easy reach of Lands End, St Michael’s Mount, the historic town of Marazion, the South West Coastal Path and the romantic Minack Theatre, cut into the rock face with the ocean as back drop.

Take the scenic coastal drive from nearby Pendeen to St Ives, passing the small village of Zennor with its legends and tales of mermaids. The popular TV series ’Poldark’ was filmed on location in the area with many of the small quiet coves, coastal paths and mining heritage featured in the series.

The area has an abundance of wildlife including dolphins, basking sharks, seals and birds. The area attracts bird watchers with the marshes at Marazion and the Hayle Estuary being of special interest.
Sub-tropical gardens, surfing, kite surfing, kayaking, golf, walking and scuba diving are all available locally. Take a day trip to the beautiful Isles of Scilly from nearby Lands End airport, or by ferry from Penzance.

Mordos has been lovingly renovated to a very good standard. With tiered terraces and slate and rock patios cut in to the hillside, this split level property has the entrance hallway on the first floor which leads to a spacious open plan living/dining room/kitchen with wonderful coastal views from every angle. The position of Mordos is excellent and the views are spectacular however, the furniture needs to be up dated in to something more comfy. The beds needs to be replaced completely and the bedrooms were damp, but the most disappointing thing was that the property was not very clean. We had originally booked 7 nights but left after 5 for the above reasons.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your stay, we are glad you enjoyed the views. In regards to the furniture, it is all upholstered and the beds are new. The property is a 1970's house so there should be no damp but bear in mind we are by the sea so you may get a chilly breeze. We maintain up-most levels of cleanliness and if there are any issues we encourage customers to get in touch while they’re there so we can resolve them immediately.

The view from this house is worth the price paid. The weather was not good during the week we were there, but the heavy winds and torrential rain made the rough sea even more magnificent and mesmerising. Our disabled daughter spent hours looking out to sea and the weather did not spoil our enjoyment. Would just like to add that, in my opinion, some of the towels need replacing and taking into account the time of year, some heating in the early morning and in the evening would have been appropriate. At the very least it would have helped to dry the towels. However, have to say again that I don't think the view from this house could be beaten.

Great location and views house could be great spoilt by second hand cheap furniture poor flooring damp bedding cheap doors fitted throughout poor selection of non matching g towels ironing board but no iron, exterior garden lights did not work plus was too expensive but a few more homely touches like rugs and cusions may of helped

Great location and nice well appointed house. We didn't think about needing to bring towels etc, but that's probably our fault. There was only two. Sennen Cove is lovely, with two good eating places. One pub and a nice restaurant, also two fish and chips shops, all of which were good. Best to book for the Ben Tunnicliffe restaurant in the evening, as its very popular at busy times. House is set into the cliff face and I would be careful about booking if you were of limited mobility. Stairs are required to get from the car to the house and bedrooms are located down more stairs underneath the living area. To get into the village requires a fairly lengthy hike down a ramshackle of old stone and concrete steps, but it is perfectly adequate if you are steady on your feet or its a longer walk back down the lane that you arrived on. We had a great time in Cornwall, the house was good but not perfect but I would still recommend it to anyone(apart from the infirm!!) I would recommend a trip to the beach and museum at Porthcurno, also the Minack Theatre which is all at the same location. Maybe try and catch a show when you are there.
