Fantastic location with stunning views. We loved staying in Moelfre but had some cleanliness issues with the house. Warm and cosy but would benefit from an overhaul.

If I had to, I'd stay at Morannedd again, but then I'm a bloke, and would sleep in a ditch so long as it had nice views. However my wife has put her foot down. The tired double mattress upstairs needed to be thrown out when we stayed in 2012. Imagine our surprise to be sleeping on this lumpy, dirty monstrosity again in 2015. The bedsheets were crumpled rags you'd give to a dog. There is a smell like wee upstairs - it could be the chimney, or the lightbulbs - I was trying not to imagine each night what it could be. We just went and bought lots of Febreze. Good points - the bathroom is lovely with fantastic views....the rest of the house needs to be brought up to this standard. The neighbours are nice. The decor is ageing but nice. The location is brilliant!!!! The kids bedroom mattresses seemed to smell of wee also....I'm wondering if it's a damp issue. The downstairs is fine, although the sofas need throwing out, or re-covering. at least. You don't want to put your hand down between any of the cushions. Cups and cutlery is the cheapest possible, with the same dirty cracked mugs from our 2012 stay. We just went and bought our own. The plates are ok though... Dust and cobwebs are everywhere, even behind the bed...with spiders in them! That doesn't bother me, but it does show that the cleaning is superficial. I wonder if the cleaner feels that she doesn't get enough time or money to do it properly? I don't know if Angelsey has a problem with light fingered holiday tenants, but furnishing a holiday home with things so poor that no one would ever want to steal them seems to be the deal here. Perhaps I'm being naiive, but if I was renting out property I'd expect to be buying new cutlery and mugs every season. I'd replace every mattress every two years. I'd factor this into the price and charge more. Yes I'd have happily paid more money for a house that didn't smell and a mattress that wasn't ancient. This is a huge airy property with its own off road parking 100 yards from a beautiful beach. It has lots of potential, but appears to be let down by cheap-skate economics.

The bedding was very creased it had not been ironed and was also very worn. There was mould on the grouting in the shower cubicle. Felt that the property could have done with a bit of an update. We had to search in all the drawers to find any instructions for the TV and heating and feel that this information should be available in a separate folder. The cleanliness of the property could have been better but the location was beautiful.

Easy to find. The parking space tight (saloon style car). House very comfortable but a little dated. lots of torches , fuses, and everything you could need except NO TOILET ROLL ON ARRIVAL. Stayed at lots of holiday cottages first time this has happened, I would have thought that it was a basic to human needs. House was not clean and there were signs of previous customer. Dropped remote for tv down the leather sofa and found lots of dirt and crumbs that had gathered over the season. We were instructed by the instruction sheet to clean everything when leaving, but no,bin bags washing up liquid or kitchen cloths to do this. During the stay the cleaner called because she wanted to use bedding for her own use. I mentioned that she had forgotten to leave toilet rolls, to which she said the owner didn't supply them because they were expensive then promptly took the bedding she needed and left. As previous reviews shared garden could be a problem if you had children. Be prepared out of season that only one shop a basic newsagents open. I like the village and would return but would look for a cottage that went the extra mile and left a toilet roll on arrival at least.

Response on behalf of the owner; As a result of your comments we now have a new caretaker to take us into 2015. Morrannedd is a beautiful house with fantastic views over the sea and mountains and we look forward to welcoming our guests in the New Year. Donna will ensure comfort and cleanliness are top of the agenda. She will pay attention to the small details which make that difference.
