Welcome Cottages

Lakeside, seaside, countryside, hillside...wherever you can picture your perfect cottage, you'll find it with Welcome Cottages!

Discover the Dordogne from this spacious, thoughtfully converted barn which also has its own swimming pool.

A delightful example of what can be achieved by carefully and thoughtfully renovating and extending a former barn: a kitchen and three bathrooms are combined with a feature fireplace, stone walls and oak beams. Whatever the season, the property offers a very cosy and good standard holiday home. Internally it is spacious and has all the necessary “home comforts,” externally, two covered terrace areas provide a pleasant breakfast area and a larger barbecue area for the long summer evenings. The gardens are fully enclosed and there is a private swimming pool. South of Périgueux and north of Bergerac, this is a good location for discovering the delights of the Dordogne Valley. Shop, café/bar and restaurant 5 miles (8km).

Lounge/kitchen/diner, utilty room, bathroom with shower over bath and 2 basins, separate toilet, 3 bedrooms: 1 double, 2 twin both with en-suite shower, toilet and basin.

Central heating, open fire in lounge, cot, highchair, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, enclosed lawned garden, patio, garden furniture, barbecue, on street parking. One pet welcome.

Great house in a rural setting with a fantastic pool. Table tennis was well used by all of us. The garden is safely enclosed although our dog did manage to escape into the owners garden a couple of times. Bergerac is 15-20 mins away. A large Le Clerc supermarket and a vet are on the way into the town. Villamblard good for the Monday market and bakery. Pont St Mamet has a small Proxi shop, with a bakery. The summer night markets are a great experience - we went to one with a pork spit roast - it reminded me of a summer fete, but revolving around food. At 7.30pm, we were one of the first to actually sit and eat! A previous reviewer made a good point about the towels - there are only small hand towel sized ones. Fine, but unexpected. Also, I'd forgotten that there isn't wi-fi or a DVD player. My teenagers were in shock. I vaguely remember choosing this on purpose, but there are only cards there. You may want to bring some games. We had an iPad with movies downloaded onto it and had brought the necessary cables to connect it to the TV. All in all, a really good holiday house.

A wonderfully equipped gite both inside and outside. Spacious, clean, light interior and a well appointed swimming pool, two covered seating areas and a full size table tennis table make for an exceptional exterior to this property.

Really lovely property. Location is very rural which we loved. The garden is a great size for a family and a dog and there is a good area for off lead walks just up the lane (though be aware of the ticks in this area - I would buy a tick collar if we went back, we were removing an average of 4 ticks a day from our lab!) The property is a very good standard and well maintained. Fairly well equipped from a crockery and cooking utensil perspective. You are expected to keep the property clean/clean before you leave which is fine except this is where the property lacks sufficient equipment - the hoover kept dying (we did inform them and they said it would be replaced) and there was no mop - when you have a dog these are essential. The owners are lovely and despite being in the neigbouring property are not intrusive. The property is nice and private as there are hedges and trees along the boarding fence. The pool is lovely. You will need pool towels and also be aware website states towels provided - they are but they are no bigger than hand if you like a bath sheet and your modesty, take one with you! The property is about 15/20 minutes from Bergerac. Overall this is a really nice property and I would recommend. For fellow dog owners there is a vets on the way into Bergerac :- Clinique Veterinaire Alienor, 15 Avenue Marceau Feyry 24100 Bergerac. Tel - 05 53 57 08 05 We walked in on the Wednesday and had our appt on the Fri. Vet speaks good English.
