Legend has it that there is treasure buried somewhere in the grounds of this spacious property, with its games room, hot tub and fishing lake.

As the name suggests, Monks Treasure is a real gem of a property. Nestling within glorious countryside close to the breathtaking North Cornish Coast, this spacious holiday property is the ideal retreat for family and friends to escape to and relax. Guests are invited to explore the owner’s 160-acre working beef farm, presented with a gold award from the Devon Wildlife Trust for its dedication to wildlife conservation in the country. The farm is steeped in history and legend, not least the fact that treasure from the nearby monastery is buried somewhere within the grounds. There are also two large fenced ponds available for guests to use for coarse fishing (by arrangement with owner, rods not provided). Situated 7 miles from the golden sands of Bude and Widemouth Bay, with excellent surfing, pretty coves and dramatic coastal walks. Relax with a game of snooker on the full size snooker table in the beamed games room with large plasma TV, overlooking the pretty, private rear courtyard, complete with an eight seater hot tub. A stunning location that has something for everyone, coastal and country walking, watersports and fishing at the nearby Tamar Lakes, golf, surfing, horse riding, cycling or simply relaxing. Family theme parks in abundance, including Crealy Adventure Park, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep. Pretty fishing villages and spectacular beaches and coves are dotted all along this coastline from Padstow, Tintagel, Crackington Haven and Bude, and for a great day out the Eden Project is within easy reach. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Fab large cottage that had great jacuzzi and large snooker room set on a working farm. How great was it being in the jacuzzi with some sheep, donkeys and pony all 'talking' to us! Lovely owners and would recommend the walk to the lakes. Wouldn't think twice about staying again!

We had a fantastic holiday! The owner was really friendly, the setting was beautiful. Local beaches perfect. Everywhere was dog friendly although sometimes we had to walk a bit further than the main beach as this didn't let dogs on at high season but wasnt really a problem. The cottage was very big and spacious and absolutely stunning. The only downsides were the beds which weren't very comfortable, and the massive difference in price between term time and school holiday but that happens everywhere...
