Loved the Barn but it had lots of spiders and webs all over so don't think it had been recently cleaned properly, The sink in the main bathroom has a cracking in it. The secure Garden was nice but the gate could have had a mesh fence attached so small dogs did not escape. Also would have been nice to have a Garden Parasol as there was a Parasol stand. The dishwasher still doesn't wash correctly, as previous mentioned in others people's feed back. Even after cleaning filer and adding rinse aid and salt. The shower in the ensuite doesn't not keep to temperature as perviouly also mentioned by other visitots to monks barn. so we all had to use the main bathroom shower. Which was inconvenience at best.

We all had an absolutely fantastic time at Monks Barns, so spacious & ideal for our group of 10, plenty of parking, scenic views & lovely neighbours. Sadly the downside is the lack of attention to the small things, ie: dishwasher (did not always clean the items) & the cooker (dirty). Majority of previous occupants have all said the same (both on electronic feedback & in the customer book in the cottage) of these complaints, surely its better to get these corrected for future bookings?

Very quiet location away from it all which was fantastic. Lovely views, polo ponies at the kitchen window each evening. After the numerous comments regarding the dishwasher, I would have to agree, but we spent significant time cleaning it, buying salt and rinse and cleaned the blocked filter, hoping its a little better for the next family, as some of the crockery, cups, and especially drinking glasses were put away dirty. Excellent time had by all, would recommend and hope to re-book again for next year.

Fantastic stay, quiet and private location, but no wifi and poor signal. Good facilities and huge kitchen, dishwasher did not work very well though. Overall great value for money and peaceful place to stay with plenty of room.

It was a great place but there were a few hitches , there was no heating therefore no hot water the was sorted out promptly thought. And the oven must not have been clean as when we cooked something it was smoking, and when we used the hob there was a sticky substance on the bottom so we had to clean it before we could use it again.

Really nice time relaxing - good to be able to get away from it all, including the lack of wifi. Underfloor heating was a plus, and the great size dining table and lounge made for a really enjoyable week.

This was an amazing place to stay. The rooms were lovely. We enjoyed sitting around in the kitchen drinking tea and catching up. Very well equipped. Perfect location for us too.

The cottage was lovely. However, there were a few issues with kitchen equipment that other guests have mentioned and yet, new equipment has not been bought. The dishwasher was not working correctly (also mentioned by another guest) and this meant that a lot of crockery and cutlery was dirty. The location was lovely although a good 20 minutes drive to places. The decoration of the cottage was nice and it was perfect for a large number of people. We went with three families and there was plenty of room! Value for money was fantastic and the enclosed garden great for children. I would recommend the cottage although feel there are some improvements to be made.

Monks Barn was a lovely property although it is in need of some remedial works as it is starting to look tired in places. Very spacious and comfortable but lacking in some basic kitchen equipment. It would also be good if some grab rails could be installed at the doors and in the showers/bathrooms to assist elderly visitors. No wifi which does make planning days out quite difficult.
