On arrival there was no heating on and it was very cold. The battery in the smoke alarm was dead and was emitting a bleep every minute or so (we had to replace the battery at our cost since there was no spare). There was a date on the battery I took out - March 2012 written on by the person I presume put it in. I am surprised that with a rental property that it is not mandatory to have these checked regularly! There was one bath towel each for the week - two were a minimum that should have been provided. There was one (repeat one only) hand towel in the bathroom between two of us. Again we had to buy some. A minimum of two each for the week need to be provided. Also, only one tea towel for the week (minimum two required).

Cottage did not have any relevant information regarding emergency numbers i e Dr's, Hospital or nearest supermarket.Would be advantageous if there was a sign at the bottom of the lane for the cottage as there was not even the name on the cottage . Instructions for cottage needs to be updated as is says that you turn by the cottage with yellow windows but these were actually red. No where to dispose of your waste.

If you like to be isolated from the world, Molly's Cottage is perfect. It is at the end of a rustic track, well away from the road and anybody else. And it has views to die for. And it's near some lovely places, like Inch Strand. Our puppy dog was totally blown away by this three-mile expanse of sand. The cottage was nice and clean -BUT we got a sense that it had been abandoned by the owner. There was no welcoming pack; there was no list of useful intructions, so getting the heat etc going could be tricky if you were not fairly adept at stuff like that; and the kitchen was full of a motley collection of fairly useless old pots and pans which filled up lots of cupboard space so there was no room for food storage. That was such a shame. New, up-to-date pans, some basic pottery instead of loads of old tea services, and enough decent knives and forks would have made us feel very much like the owners had given some thought to the needs of their customers. Sorry to sound negative - we left much more relaxed than when we arrived, but with a sense of being uncared for.

Down side: Bathroom and shower quite small but usable and shower worked well. Access track a bit rough and exiting onto road a bit tricky. Upside: Clean and comfortable, everything worked. Great location, very quiet and lovely view over Dingle Bay. Good base to tour the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry.
