The West Water flows past the property and fishing permits can be obtained from Brechin which is a short drive away. The area is rich in history from the 2000 year old Caterthun Hill Forts which overlook the property, to the picturesque ruins of Edzell Castle, the House of Dun near Montrose and Barrie’s birthplace in Kirriemuir which are just to name a few. Golfers can obtain day tickets at Edzell, Brechin, Montrose and Forfar. Beach 20 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 5½ miles.

A gem of a cottage. The location was fabulous, a lovely countryside retreat. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well appointed. All on one level too, so good for anyone of restricted mobility - although just be aware of a couple of steps up at the entrance. Very practical for dogs too with good walks locally. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Getting away from wifi and mobile signal was a positive advantage.

Would benefit from wifi. Lovely cosy cottage with wood burning fire as well as central heating. Secure enclosed garden great for dogs meant we could leave door open and dogs could wander in and out when they wanted.
