This was our second short-break stay at Milton Byre. We have stayed in many self catering properties over the years in Argyll and Bute (and beyond) but this is by far the best! The cottage is beautifully situated and extremely well appointed. The location is AMAZING. It is a most peaceful and a most picturesque spot. In terms of local amenities; once you're out of Rothesay, you've effectively left them behind but this isn't a problem as the drive to town is a short one and there's a good bus service on the island, if you don't have access to a car. Your hosts are a lovely, genuine couple who make you feel instantly at home but at the same time are careful not to intrude on your privacy. The cottage is cosy yet spacious. The kitchen/diner is, in itself, a wonderful space and the sitting room to the rear of the cottage has pleasant views across the large gardens, to the stream and the fields beyond. We love this property and this island and can't wait to return; but this time, for the week! Many thanks. Andrea, David, and our very well behaved companion, Holly Dog.

Everything about this holiday cottage is perfect! it doesn't have wifi but I think that made it a more relaxing time away. Will be returning at some point

Beautiful and very comfortable holiday accommodation with everything we needed and more besides. Very friendly and helpful on-site owners. The one thing that could have made it even better would be the addition of a shower, rather than only a bath. However everything else more than made up for this and the bathroom itself is really lovely and spacious.
