Very comfortably furnished throughout, with all modern conveniences including satellite TV, open fire and oil fired central heating it offers complete privacy and being set on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park makes a superb base for exploring the surrounding area. Historic Kildrummy Castle is a 5 minute drive away and Balmoral Castle and Lecht Ski Centre are reached within 30 minutes. The village of Glenkindie is nearby, with a shop, post office and hotel serving good pub food, as well as restaurant cuisine. The town of Alford which is approximately 12 miles east, has further amenities, while local attractions and leisure pursuits include Castle and Whisky Trails, Stone Circle Trail, hill-walking, mountaineering/climbing, fishing, golf, ski-ing (wet and dry), Lonach highland games, and many historical points of interest. Shop and pub ¾ mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room with patio door. Kitchen with slate floor. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet. First floor: 4 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft) with French door, 3 twin, one with en-suite shower room and toilet (can be accessed by hall), all with sloping ceilings.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Oil central heating included (£50per week October-March). Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair. Satellite TV.     We stayed as a family for two weeks. Advise anyone going to join National Trust if you are thinking of visiting the castles. The house was the best we have ever stayed in - and we have stayed in a lot. We will return

    Would have given straight 10s but TV went on blink (no sound only 'hiss'). Wifi never functioned and smoke alarm kept going off (had to remove battery). Been there some 9 times and this has never happened so this time was an exception. Would still definitely go back though.
