Very comfortably furnished throughout, with all modern conveniences including satellite TV, open fire and oil fired central heating it offers complete privacy and being set on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park makes a superb base for exploring the surrounding area. Historic Kildrummy Castle is a 5 minute drive away and Balmoral Castle and Lecht Ski Centre are reached within 30 minutes. The village of Glenkindie is nearby, with a shop, post office and hotel serving good pub food, as well as restaurant cuisine. The town of Alford which is approximately 12 miles east, has further amenities, while local attractions and leisure pursuits include Castle and Whisky Trails, Stone Circle Trail, hill-walking, mountaineering/climbing, fishing, golf, ski-ing (wet and dry), Lonach highland games, and many historical points of interest. Shop and pub ¾ mile.

    We were very disappointed to find that the house, although designated as accepting pets, is not really suitable for taking dogs to as the fields around the house had sheep and cattle in them which prevented bother the dogs and ourselves enjoying the garden despite the lovely weather. It should be made much more clearer on the property description that the fields do have farm animals in them. Otherwise the house is very well equipped and luxurious.

    The fact that we have stayed here 9 times speaks volumes. It's a home from home set in tranquil surroundings.......but also has as full range of facilities etc. Excellent.
