First impressions... the cottage was lovely to look at and had beautiful views. The track from the main road was worse than we anticipated but we were aware that it was in poor condition before booking, just drop to 1st and 2nd gear and take your time and it's no problem. The interior on first impressions was very good too. Large equipped kitchen with highchair as expected for my 18 month old son, large spacious livingroom with comfortable sofas and freeview tv via a sky box, three good size bedrooms and a clean bathroom with hot running water. Had to call the owner Ian within an hour of arriving as there was no cot (as requested and confirmed by email) he claimed they didn't have the request but was more than happy to bring one up (very pleasant). A few hours later when trying to assemble the cot we realised it was broken... one of the sides would not connect and just kept collapsing so for safety reasons we decided our son would sleep in the double bed with me and my partner... turned out for the better as both heaters upstairs did NOT work and the upstairs was absolutely freezing all night. Great quilts on the beds though, trapped heat perfectly but we ended up having to bring the electric heater from the livingroom upstairs just to take the chill out of the room. Downstairs however is lovely and warm!! The cottage itself had a very strong smell to it which I suspect is coming from the carpet and curtains downstairs... nothing a good deep clean wouldn't solve. Another issue was that there is no WIFI as advertised... either provide it or don't false advertise!!! Out of 3 different t mobile networks none of the party could get a signal anywhere in the property and there is no landline in or outside which is a safety worry... only place to get a few bars signal is outside on the Seaview side of the property. We booked 3 nights at this property as we were guests at my mums wedding. We ended up only staying 2 nights as our son developed a very bad cough which we felt was partially responsible by the cold upstairs and the dust from the carpets and curtains. Overall very disappointed in the condition of the property and felt that the issues we experienced didn't give us value for money. I think the owners need to address these issues for potential future guests.

No Wi fi, although promised and my complaint on return was ignored. No shower, only a bath with no shower attachment. Track down to house resulted in 3 punctures in one week; off road driving would be easier! Views were beautiful however.

Lovely cosy cottage and stunning scenery. Very remote at the end of a farm track road but was less than a half hour drive to Portree which has lots of restaurants and bars. Well equipped and spacious kitchen, living room and bedrooms. A shower attachment for the bath was the only thing lacking.

Mill cottage was in a poor state of repair and needed a damn good clean. Would not book there again.

4 of us stayed at the Mill Cottage at June, 2015. For it's great value for money we got everything what needed: an affordable base in between of all the sights we wanted to visit. We also got a clean and well equipped kitchen, everything in good working condition; bright living room with comfy sofas. Don't be misled by other reviews saying the place is inaccessible because of the potholes on the farm road. Put into 2nd gear and forget throttle, at some spots back to 1st gear and crawl over the holes playing with the clutch. Not a big deal for a driver with some experience and patience, will be rewarded with the best view at this price range near Portree. (For those who take their office for the holiday: bring a cup of tea with your laptop and hotspot provider to the garden chairs on the seaside of the building - 4G were available there)

We really enjoyed staying at this cottage. It was far from the centers of tourist activity and that is why we chose it. We could not believe how big those cows were. The facilities were complete and comfortable. An added attraction was the laundry. The road going down to the cottage was a bit daunting - filled with pot holes and extremely narrow. Also, there was a problem with the stove. The oven worked but we came with groceries and planned to use the stove top. We made do. Ian fixed a valve and it worked after breakfast but was out again in the evening for our meal preparation. That was unfortunate but I am sure that it has been satisfactorily repaired.
