Description

Ideally located for families to discover the Northumberland countryside and coast with castles and beaches in abundance.

These light and airy properties are set between the Cheviot Hills and the Northumberland Coast on the edge of the National Park. Milfield Hill Steading stands in an elevated position; once part of a large country estate dating back to the 1750s, it was owned by the Grey family until 1967 and was the birthplace of the social reformer Josephine Butler. There are the medieval ruins of Etal and Dunstanburgh, Bamburgh and Alnwick Castles, Holy Island and the Farne Islands to explore. North Northumberland coastline (AONB) offers long, uncrowded, sandy beaches, fishing villages and seaside resorts. The Cheviots’ ‘rounded hills’ and the Pennine Way offer a challenging terrain. Cycling, horse riding, golf and bird-watching nearby. Village shop and pub/restaurant ½ mile.

Large, open-plan living room with well-equipped kitchen/dining area, multi-fuel stove and sliding doors to secure garden. First floor: Large double bedroom with 5ft bed and twin bedroom, each with cathedral ceiling. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

My only negative regarding Bushyfield Cottage was the bed in the main bedroom, for me it was to soft. Everything else was just perfect!
