Clean and pleasant accommodation in a very nice village. Not easy to find and the directions were useless. No video player as promised. It would have been nice to be told there is a co-op in the village and we would have avoided a longish return trip to Ambleside, with its difficult parking. We were left over-priced milk we did not want from a local dairy and felt pressurised into accepting it. Notes left cancelling it were ignored. A phone call to the dairy sorted it. Would recommenfpd the cottage itself. Note parking is tight. Good local pubs for food. Convenient for Windermere etc.

An excellent place to stay. It's a pity the single bed mattresses needed replacing. Before booking again we would hope this has been put right.

The property was very well located in the centre of Hawkshead and ideal for shops, pubs and restaurants. The cottage was clean, well-equipped and affordable with a better TV than that shown on the pictures. The beds also looked new. The only addition I would asked for was Wifi/ Broadband access as there is none at the cottage and BTFon was not accessible from the cottage either.

Have stayed at this cottage several times before so knew what to expect. On this occasion it was a cleaner than in the past and had clearly recently been refreshed with a coat of paint. The double bed is uncomfortable and the seating in the living room is just passable as it is very 'saggy'. Having said all that, it is what you pay for and is in a perfect position so close to the village amenities, walks etc. and yet still very quiet. The cottage is nice and warm, has everything you would realistically want for this type of holiday and has parking right outside the door - which is not always the case in the Lake District. Would we go again - most definitely, it is already booked so I think that says everything!

Enjoyed the cottage, clean tidy and comfortable although ready for new settees and a new carpet to main room, problem with TV not working quickly fixed by Jacky and her son.
