Situated just 1 mile from the village of Hayfield, a popular base for a holiday exploring the Sett Valley Trail, walking the Kinder Scout, the caverns around Castleton, the plague village of Eyam, Edale, Hope, Chatsworth House, Haddon and Lyme Halls. Buxton, Bakewell, Glossop and Holmfirth are all an easy drive, as is Manchester with its excellent shopping. Golf and horse riding can also be found nearby. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub ¼ mile.

    We had a fantastic week at Marl House Farm. The weather was awful for the first part of the week but we did not care as the cottage was so lovely. It has everything you need and is simply stunning. The hosts were amazing too and so helpful. We wished we had booked 2 weeks. We will return for sure.

    Far too noisy ,right next to a major road with car and trucks thundering past night and day. No formal meeting from land lady Lost upstairs power and no water on last morning - it took three phones calls and over an hour to resolve - not good!

    Marl House farm is second to none. It had everything that you would want from a holiday cottage stay - comfort, old world barn style, log fire (with logs), extremely well equipped country kitchen (only thing missing was an Aga). Bathroom and Berdrooms were large and well fitted. The Welcome niceties, wine, coffee and tea were very much appreciated. Didnt need to bring the kitchen sink utilites e.g washing up liquid, tea towels cloths cleaning gear, as everything is catered for. alovely place to stay

    We have stayed here numerous times and will continue to do so. This is an excellent property, which caters to everyone, whether it be as a base for walking / climbing / biking, or as a cosy retreat in front of the log burner. The only reason for not giving a 10 on location is that the cottage is situated next to a busy road on one side, which for very light sleepers may present a problem, but it has never been an issue for us. Superb value for money out of season and the log burner in winter is real bonus. P.S. Remember to turn the water pump off at night, as it can kick in and be a bit of a shock in the smaller bedroom!

    Spotless well equipped cottage in a great location for exploring the Peak District. Unfortunately the cottage is right on the side of a very busy, noisy road which made sleeping at night and sitting out in the courtyard impossible. Bed in master bedroom was very uncomfortable and the water tank very noisy, we also had problems with the water stopping midway through showering, maybe with some money spent in the right places and a little soundproofing things could be improved considerably. Such a shame as everything else was great. Loved meeting the goats and friendly dogs.

    A nice cottage but disappointed at its location on a busy road. There are no walks directly from the cottage and you have to get in the car to go everywhere, even the pub a 1/4 mile away is not safe to walk to!
