An impressive farmhouse with open fires and games room, ideal for larger groups of family or friends.

Set on a working farm in the peaceful hamlet of Oxwick, Manor Farmhouse is only 12 miles from Holkham, with its lovely expanse of sandy beach. This impressive farmhouse boasts two spacious living rooms, is very well furnished and equipped, and stands in its own half-acre of lawned gardens. Fakenham is 4 miles away, and offers a good choice of shops, inns and restaurants, as well as 10-pin bowling, a sports centre, golf course and racecourse. On the coast, Wells-next-the-Sea, 11 miles, is a bustling little fishing port, which boasts fine Georgian houses set round a green, and a busy quayside full of shrimp boats and colourful pleasure craft. A miniature railway or a pleasant walk along the embankment, takes visitors to the sandy beach, 1¼ miles. There is a large boating lagoon for canoes and dinghies, as well as sailing, tennis, and riding locally. Close by are Walsingham Abbey grounds, containing the famous Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and the remains of an Augustinian priory.
Less than an hour away lies Norwich, one of the finest of England’s provincial capitals. For the visitor, there is a wealth of history, fine architecture, excellent shopping, art, museums and leisure activities. The Norman castle dominates the town and now houses a museum, while the magnificent cathedral boasts some of Britain’s best Gothic architecture. There are cobbled streets, quiet alleys and courtyards, lively shopping centres, plenty of good inns and restaurants, as well as excellent art galleries and museums. There is an excellent pub/restaurant just a mile from the holiday property. Shops 1 mile.

We loved our stay for 3 nights. We were group of 14 people which includes 8 adults and 6 kids. Cottage is absolutely lovely. It is quite spacious but had one issue , there were no locks in bathroom but we enjoyed singing while using them. I would like to stay here again during summer.

This is certainly a big house, with enough space for a large group of people and generally it was warm with nice open fires. However, it is not well-maintained - peeling wallpaper, curtains hanging off their rails, stained ceilings, missing light bulbs, hardly any lamps (and these didn't all work), filth down the side of the oven. There is no real sense of a hospitable welcome - little information ahead of time and no information at all in the house about its workings, the local area or places to visit. It felt as if the bare minimum was being done for the guests.

Great country home, rooms are a good size, decor is a bit on the old side but that's not a problem! Really enjoyed the stay here. The conservatory is brilliant, great surroundings too and not far from the town and Hunstanton. Just need to clean up the cobwebs around the ceilings, missing locks on toilet doors. Kitchen was in good condition and loved the open fire in the large dining room. Thanks for an enjoyable weekend.

Stayed for 2 nights for Hubby's 60th Birthday with 9 adults and 7 children ages ranging from 63 to 2 years of age. Property was exactly what we hoped for. Plenty of room to accommodate us all, and the games room was enjoyed by all ages. Would definitely return.

We had a wonderful week at Manor Farmhouse and would definitely stay here again. There was loads of room for all 13 of us so that we weren't all living on top of each other. The beds were all very comfortable and the house was well equipped. The location is idyllic, so quiet and peaceful, but close enough to the amenities in Fakenham for it not to be a hardship. The whole family would definitely recommend this property. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Manor Farmhouse is very spacious, with big bedrooms and a very large and private outside space. The owner was also helpful in sorting out a few minor issues we had when we first arrived (changing a few lightbulbs, explaining how the heating worked, giving us enough keys etc). But, the house was not very clean, and is in need of some updating - both in terms of the furniture and the decor (several of the rooms have significant damp patches etc). I also wouldn't describe it as 'kid friendly' particularly (some uneven floors, nettles right outside the back door in the garden).
