Description

An impressive farmhouse with open fires and games room, ideal for larger groups of family or friends.

Set on a working farm in the peaceful hamlet of Oxwick, Manor Farmhouse is only 12 miles from Holkham, with its lovely expanse of sandy beach. This impressive farmhouse boasts two spacious living rooms, is very well furnished and equipped, and stands in its own half-acre of lawned gardens. Fakenham is 4 miles away, and offers a good choice of shops, inns and restaurants, as well as 10-pin bowling, a sports centre, golf course and racecourse. On the coast, Wells-next-the-Sea, 11 miles, is a bustling little fishing port, which boasts fine Georgian houses set round a green, and a busy quayside full of shrimp boats and colourful pleasure craft. A miniature railway or a pleasant walk along the embankment, takes visitors to the sandy beach, 1¼ miles. There is a large boating lagoon for canoes and dinghies, as well as sailing, tennis, and riding locally. Close by are Walsingham Abbey grounds, containing the famous Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and the remains of an Augustinian priory.
Less than an hour away lies Norwich, one of the finest of England’s provincial capitals. For the visitor, there is a wealth of history, fine architecture, excellent shopping, art, museums and leisure activities. The Norman castle dominates the town and now houses a museum, while the magnificent cathedral boasts some of Britain’s best Gothic architecture. There are cobbled streets, quiet alleys and courtyards, lively shopping centres, plenty of good inns and restaurants, as well as excellent art galleries and museums. There is an excellent pub/restaurant just a mile from the holiday property. Had a lovely stay in the Farmhouse. Owners very helpful. Lovely large rooms and plenty of space. Poor weather meant we couldn't enjoy the outside but lovely BBQ area should you get right weather. All rooms were comfortable and the shower on the first floor was amazing!!! Beautiful walk in shower.

A large property which has everything that you need but is incredibly run down. Beds are uncomfortable, shower a dribble and cleaning not very thorough. If you just want a big place to stay then fine but don't expect it to be high spec!

We had a fantastic weekend celebrating my 60th birthday with ten grandchildren and six adults. The farmhouse was perfect as it was huge and comfortable with lovely log fires .The furniture was solid so we didn't have to worry about the children playing indoors. The house was clean and there was plenty of crockery and cutlery- the only thing that I would take next time would be some plastic mugs for the children. The owners were very helpful and friendly and we will definitely be going back again.

16 of us had a great time here celebrating our daughters 40th Birthday, 10 adults and 6 children and plenty of room for all. Sky TV a DVD player and games room kept everyone entertained and the grounds are good for games. The location is excellent near to shops and the sea is not far away. We have never seen a dining table as big as the one we played cards and games on, as well as eating. Its a lovely place to stay and hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

An almost perfect week for 16 people. Plenty of room for all to enjoy their own space if required, but really great for a group get together. The owners greeted us on arrival and made us feel really welcome.

The house is ideal for our holiday group - there are 12 of us, 8 of whom are teenagers and it's an ideal place to stay. The location is close to local beaches, we love Wells Next The Sea and Holkham.
