Description

Set in a rural location yet only 6 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon, with its attractions, shops, pubs and restaurants.

Situated on a working farm only six miles away from Stratford-upon-Avon, these holiday properties are excellently located for guests who wish to really explore the local area, and are perfect for walkers, families, couples and groups of friends. The Old Workshop (ref 29173) is a detached, converted barn with high ceilings, beams and plenty of character, whilst Jumbo’s Stable (ref 29174) adjoins The Apple Store (ref 29183) by an interconnecting door so could be booked together to sleep up to 8 guests. At the heart of a mixed working farm of arable, sheep and poultry, guests will find themselves surrounded by open fields and countryside with many established public footpaths criss-crossing through and on towards the local nearby villages of Newbold and Alderminster. Newbold and Alderminster have an excellent quality local pub and restaurant, along with a farmer’s shop that sells top quality local food and produce and all are within walking distance. Guests will be able to visit Stratford-upon-Avon, 6 miles, world famous as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. This historic market town offers guests the chance to visit many of the local attractions including Shakespeare’s birthplace, Ann Hathaway’s cottage, Mary Arden’s farm and also the world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Theatre, that sits right on the banks of the picturesque River Avon. Also great for a shopping trip, there are plenty of top quality boutiques, shops, tea shops, restaurants, bistros and pubs to explore and enjoy. Only a 30-minute drive away, guests will be able to visit historic Warwick, with its ancient castle and grounds, as well as Royal Leamington Spa, Kenilworth, Droitwich Spa, Alcester and Henley-in-Arden. The drive to the Cotswolds will take no longer than thirty minutes too, and guests should definitely make time to visit one of the many Cotswold towns and villages including Chipping Campden, Shipston on Stour, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton-on-the-Water and Broadway, which are fantastic examples of the quintessentially English culture. A little further afield but still within an hour’s drive, guests will find the magnificent cathedral cities of Worcester and Oxford as well as Regency Cheltenham, with its racecourse, Birmingham NEC, Chipping Norton, Banbury, Evesham and Bicester. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile. Properties 29173, 29174 and 29183 can be booked together to accommodate up to 16 guests.

We spent 3 nights at the Apple House (family with 2 kids). The location is perfect to visit Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick castle and Oxford. The kids loved the farm with the lambs, the lovely dogs and the horse (Kelsey). The house is very clean with all the facilities we needed, 2 en-suite bathrooms, cosy and warm as it was cold outside. Highly recommended!

Excellent location for visiting Stratford, Warwick, Leamington Spa and the Cotswolds. Many National Trust properties close by. The cottage is a high quality semi detached barn conversion in a quiet rural location on a working farm. We were welcomed by the friendly owner and a welcome pack of basic necessities awaited us. The cottage was cosy, warm, comfortable and spacious. Both bedrooms have en suites and a log fire (with wood provided) in the open plan lounge, kitchen, diner added to the ambience on cold frosty nights. A local shop/cafe within walking distance provided all basic needs and offered many tempting delicacies. Definitely worth a visit or two. Not too far from the nearest supermarket at Wellesbourne. A very enjoyable experience, sad to leave and anxious to return.

We had a wonderful family holiday with our 18 month old twins. The barn was simply superb and the owner very friendly. She even provided a delicious cake for our arrival. We would definitely book here again if we were in the area.

Spacious well equipped cottage. Good location for sight seeing. The only problem we found was parking. There is space for two cars but when the other cottages are occupied it can be awkward getting in and out.
