Manor Court Cottages are set in the peaceful village of Shipton Gorge, less than 2 miles from the stunning Jurassic coastline. Within walking distance, 110 yards, are the village playing fields and pub selling the world famous Palmers Brewery Ales and delicious pub food. The market town of Bridport, 2 miles away, once famous for its rope-making industry, was Thomas Hardy’s Port Bredy and has lots of little shops, cafes and a fantastic selection of pubs and restaurants, along with the twice weekly market where local produce can be sampled as featured in the popular ‘River Cottage’ TV series. Lyme Regis and Weymouth are great places for fishing and watching the world go by. Weymouth also has a great family beach, the winner of a seaside award. Spread along the coast are the other beach resorts of Bournemouth and Poole and the beautiful Victorian Swanage with its steam railway. Fossil hunters will enjoy the world famous beach of Charmouth. The family can have a great day at Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum, Weymouth Sea Life Centre, Abbotsbury Swannery, Sub Tropical Gardens and Childrens Farm. Shops and pubs 1 mile.

Really enjoyed our short break. Very good location for access to many beaches and places of interest. Nice local pubs close by, recommend the 3 Horseshoes in Burton Bradstock. The cottage itself is spacious and warm, could do with a larger tv and access to the internet in the cottage itself, although I do understand the difficulty in providing it. We would have no qualms in returning should we wish to visit the area again.

Very well equipped and comfortable cottage. Particularly picked it so we could take the dog and she loved it.

Excellent accommodation, spacious with en-suite, dishwasher, fridge etc. There is a TV/DVD combi and a few DVDs which you can play. The cottage is very quiet and peaceful, away from the traffic with a little grass area that the children could play on. There is a BBQ facility next to the brick wall of the cottage. There was good parking space on the site. The surrounding views are very pleasant. It is not too far from the town or West Bay, especially if you have a car and quite central really if you have touring in mind. It's not far from Devon and not too far from the New Forest, or Bournemouth for example and there are lots of attractions in the area. Swift cottage is one of several on site but you don't hear much noise from the other residents. There is an information building which contains a Wi-Fi system, washing machine and tumble dryer and freezer compartment for your use. Mobile phone reception is poor, not that it troubled us as we don't use them much. The visitor's book contains a history of highly favourable comments from happy holiday makers. This place is to be highly recommended.
