Making an ideal holiday base for exploring the delightful picturesque villages and interesting old market towns this area has to offer. The old wool town of Lavenham with its spectacular guildhall and the medieval houses, Long Melford famous for Long Melford and Kentwell Halls, and antique shops are all within a 20-minute drive. The historic old market town of Bury St Edmunds for the abbey ruins, museums, theatre, sports and swimming facilities is only 7 miles. Sudbury, the birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough, Stowmarket and Diss are within easy reach as is Newmarket for the races, whilst peaceful Flatford and Dedham - much associated with the painter Constable - lie close by. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, cycling and bird watching, and horse riding is available 2 miles away. Each holiday cottage overlooks a pretty enclosed courtyard with furniture and barbecue area ideal for sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine on a balmy summer’s evening. Shop 2 miles, pub 1.5 miles, restaurant 2 miles.

    The cottage is very comfortable and in a lovely location which we loved. A great place to explore the surrounding area. Local facilities and amenities are only a car drive away.

    Great for some piece and quite had a lovely week with my husband and two small dogs the lady who ran the cottages was very helpful would go back only Negative is it as storage heaters little cold at nite and the shower was not a full shower over the taps one

    We had a wonderful long weekend, very quiet, close to Lavenham and a lovely 12th century pub which served a fantastic Sunday lunch. Cosy, immaculate and well equipped. Will definitely stay again.
