Malt cottage is set in the picturesque location of Stow-on-the-Wold, surrounded by local ammenities. There are little independent shops, tea rooms, bakers and a co op all a few hundred yards away. A short walk away at the top of the hill there is a fairly large tesco providing all that you need. The co op is small but there is a lot crammed in, easy to walk to and purchase those much needed everyday bits. Parking was not really an issue, parking can be found on street and at the bottom of the hill there is a pay and display car park there is also parking in the main market square. The cottage itself was great, well equipped we had all that we needed, it was cosy, warm and all appliances were easy to use. We had plenty of space and it was a good base to have for the week. Stow-on-the-Wold is near plenty of other villages in the Cotswolds, Bourton-on-the-Water is around a 5 minute drive away and Broadway is around a 15 minute drive away. Both are worth a visit, with Broadway boasting a wide range of shops if your in need of retail therapy and Bourton-on-the-Water has a sense of history to it with the motor museum. Bourton also has Birdland which is a lovely place to visit in the right weather as it is outdoor based. Stratford-Upon-Avon is around a 40 minute drive and if you wish to venture further out a drive to Symmonds Yat is defiently worth while with a lovely view point and boat trips along the River Wye being offered there.

The week went far too quickly which is always a sign of a good holiday. The cottage was cosy and fabulously equipped with quality fixtures and fittings - particularly the kitchen. It was such an "easy" place to stay. We have only marked the cleanliness down due to the need for a really good dusting which could be sorted so easily. Parking for past holidaymakers seems to have been an issue. Stow is a popular place with plenty of free parking providing you don't mind a short walk back to the cottage. Saying that out of 6 of the 7 days, we parked within yards of the cottage. An ability to reverse park is a must. We love Stow, so convenient for everything you need and very, very popular with tourist. Once evening falls, all is quiet and peaceful and whilst you won't ever have it all to yourself it does have a certain calm about it.

We enjoyed our 10-days-stay at this nicely furnished and well equipped cottage very much. Parking on Park Street was never a problem. The cottage's location is very good. Everything is within walking-distance. We also enjoyed the little patio at the back of the cottage. Stow-on-the-Wold is a neat village and a great place to stay if you want to make day-trips to discover the beautiful villages of the Cotswolds. We felt very much at home at Malt Cottage and would love to come back!

The cottage was ideal for our requirements and was one of the best cottages we have stayed at in terms of high standards of equipment, cleanliness and location. We will hopefully return at some future date.

The location of Malt Cottage is excellent right in the centre close to all pubs and shops. We parked up close to the cottage every day. We appreciated the cake and milk on arrival as well as all the good quality soaps, towels and bedding all of excellent quality. There were numerous places to eat and drink and a co op as well as butchers, bakers and a large Tesco only up the road if you needed it. The local BP garage had a M&S in there as well as a fresh bakery. The cottage was very clean and warm all the time and although there was only 2 of us we could imagine it being easily spacious enough for 4 people. There was a good choice of info in the property. The shower was excellent. The kitchen equipment is all to a high standard with Denby crockery and seemed to be equipped to the highest of standards. Stow on the Wold was a great base to visit all the lovely towns and villages we went to Stratford on Avon in around 30 minutes and particularly liked Bourton in the water. Parking the car up at the end of the day and being spoilt for choice for an evening meal was a great bonus for us. we found all the locals very friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to return to Malt Cottage should we be back in the Cotswolds.
