Description

A stunning five bedroom property in an idyllic countryside setting, with far reaching views to the Welsh mountains.

This five bedroom farmhouse on the Worcestershire/Herefordshire border, close to Bishop’s Frome, has been beautifully restored and offers a sociable space for family and friends to get together in quiet and luxurious surroundings. The mix of old and new gives this property character and the imaginative decoration a perfect compliment. There are original beams throughout and wood burners feature in the living room. The sun room has lots of light with beautiful views, and the stunning master bedroom has a feature mahogany kingsize bed, a large en-suite and a balcony with an open view across the fields and hills to the Welsh mountains. Outside the property, you will find lovely features including an old cider mill within a restored Byre with a heated seating area, a Petanque court and a covered well that retains the original water pump. A pizza oven, fire pit/barbecue and a large refectory table give plenty of options for al fresco dining. There are also electric car charging points available on request.
The property is in a great location as it is close to the market towns of Bromyard, Ledbury, the Malvern Hills (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), and the cathedral cities of Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester. There are many festivals and events to enjoy in the area, including the Three Choirs Festival, the Malvern Theatre festivals, Three Counties Show, the RHS Spring and Autumn Show, Cheltenham’s Literacy Festival, Gold Cup Festival, blues, jazz and folk festivals in Upton-upon-Severn, and the Hay-on-Wye Festival. There are many country pubs in the nearby villages, and The Hop Pocket, a craft and gift shop, is close by. The area is known for growing hops and cider apples, and the Frome Valley Vineyard, The Wye Valley Brewery and the Chase/Williams Vodka distillery are all within 10 miles to sample the local produce. There is fishing available nearby. Shop and pub serving food 1 mile.

Recently stayed here for a surprise family birthday weekend. Beautiful house, beautiful views and the warmest welcome from the owners. The house has everything you could possibly need and equipped and decorated to a very high standard. The stunning kitchen was the centre point of our stay and lots of family meals around the huge dining table. Despite a chilly evening we also used the BBQ and Pizza Oven and would recommend using these. Overall we all loved it, couldn't fault it and are already planning our next stay.

A fabulous property, extremely well equipped for a large group. Three big reception spaces, each comfortably accommodating 10 adults and plenty of bathrooms - always important with large groups! The views out back are wonderful and the outdoor spaces and pizza oven are fantastic. All bedrooms were very comfortable and clean and the owners even provided a beautiful welcome basket filled with local produce. We would love to return to this property at the same time next year.

We've just had a really lovely family Christmas at Mabley. We wanted a 'generous' type of place to facilitate this and make it a proper treat, and it did not disappoint! All the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated to a very high standard, with comfortable beds and luxurious linen and towels. The equipment is abundant and high-tech with pretty much anything you could possibly want supplied- the coffee machine was excellent, and we had fun with the robot hoovers! The welcome basket was a lovely surprise which we weren't expecting, generously filled with the best of local produce, including a hand-made Christmas cake from Helen, one of the owners- a thoughtful and much appreciated touch. Communication regarding the booking and various practicalities was excellent, and their posting on of a couple of things we managed to forget was very kind of them. We didn't venture very far afield, mainly because we were enjoying ourselves in the house too much! Bromyard is a very short drive away, with some interesting and useful shops, and a farm vending shop a couple of minutes up the road supplies logs, eggs, and that sort of thing. We didn't make a lot of use of the outside areas apart from a game of boules as it was too cold, but enjoyed the superb views from the sun lounge to the full.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your kind review, and glad that you and your family had a great Christmas. The robots will be awaiting your return!

Mabley is an excellent property finished to a fantastic standard with amazing amenities. We were a group of 8 getting together for a shared birthday celebration and the property's layout was perfect for a social occasion with large communal spaces. Location is perfect for the Malvern hills and surrounding areas, especially if you have a car to tour. The local pub, The Green Dragon was great for beer and food and full of friendly local folk and warm fires. Our hosts Steve and Helen couldn't have been better, friendly and welcoming. All in all a great place to visit if you wish to either hunker down or explore further afield. A great find!!! Many thanks.

We had the most wonderful time in this fabulous house. We were greeted by Helen and Steve who were keen for us to have a great weekend, and we did! Firstly, we found a welcome basket of local produce including bread, apple juice, jam, beer and wine along with an enormous Victoria sponge cake which had been baked by Helen, and then discovered butter, cheeses, milk, cider and a large steak and ale pie in the fridge! The kitchen was fantastically well equipped including top of the range appliances and every pan and dish you could possibly hope for and masses of crockery, cutlery and glasses. We loved sitting in the sun room section of the kitchen with its glorious views of the surrounding countryside and thought it a perfect place for pre dinner drinks and nibbles! The entire house is finished to a very high standard and is beautifully furnished throughout. There’s a lovely sitting room with two wood burners (we lit them just for the cosy glow. The house has excellent underfloor heating so we didn’t really need the fire!) All the bedrooms and bathrooms are fabulous. The outside space is well planned with an area to play boules and two separate seating areas, each with its own table and chairs - no need to lug furniture about! One is sheltered and includes a fitted overhead heater and fairy lights. We visited Malvern, Worcester and Ludlow whilst we were staying here and there are many other places to see. Our main concern now is that this beautiful house will be forever booked, and we won’t get a look in!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your kind words. We are glad that you had a great time, and hope to see you again.
