Full of period charm, with beams, wood burner and flagstone floor, fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay close by.

Charming period cottages

Close to Sandsend and the beach, they nestle cosily in the village just a short stroll to the friendly village pub and shop. Lythe village is perfectly placed for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Jurassic Coast of Yorkshire with quaint fishing villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay just a few miles away. The ancient sea port of Whitby is 3 miles, and from here you can board the steam train and take a memorable journey through the stunning Esk Valley into ’Heartbeat’ villages of Goathland and Grosmont. A must when visiting this area is Robin Hood’s Bay, whilst award-winning beaches, cliff top walks and stunning moorland with quaint little villages tucked away, are all within easy reach of these charming holiday cottages. Shop 20 yards, pub and restaurant 10 yards.

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. Apart from the occasional bump on the head we had a really great time. Would recommend it to anyone we think could manage the stairs.

Small, compact, cosey , comfortable cottage. A little unnerving having people walk so close to the window. At the top of a 1:4 hill. One small coffee shop/post office in the village. Pub not open for meals during the week. However cottage was convenient for my stay and was very clean. Didn't use the wood burner as storage heaters were sufficient. St. Oswald's church (200m away) is worth a visit.

Lovely cottage. So clean and well equipped. Would stay here again. The only down side was a little traffic coming passed, but nothing you couldn't cope with. Great location so you can visit some lovely places without having to travel miles.

Lovely cottage, good location, plenty to see and do in this part of Yorkshire. Only criticism would be cottage is located next to road with traffic noise in morning.
