This vibrant walled city appeals to all ages with its wealth of world-renowned attractions, including the iconic minster, the castle and railway museums, the Jorvik Centre and Cliffords Tower. There are art galleries and theatres, quirky shops along the cobbled streets and numerous inns serving real ale. Take a trip on the open-top bus, walk along the city walls and cruise along the river, or enjoy a day out at the Knavesmire racecourse. Beautifully clean and with everything my dog and I needed. Lovely secure location with easy access to York and Bridlington, and just down the road to Pocklington. Great communication from Sandie and overall made to feel very welcome.

The break in York was brilliant, we did plenty, spent plenty, and left with still plenty to do. We had a fantastic time, spent most of our days walking, but it was great to get back to our lodge and be able to relax and have a beer in comfortable surrounding, even better was the last night, we ordered a pizza from the local takeaway and watched a few movies. Great to relax and rewind for a few days.

One of the nicest places we've ever stopped in! Enjoyed every moment of it and seeing the rabbits and squirrels completely topped off this whole experience, thankyou!

Had a lovely week in Sandy Lodge which is a really comfortable place to stay and of a high standard. Everything you need including a hairdryer. Very quiet site and this lodge is at the end of the site so no other lodge on one side. My son and his labrador came for two nights and plenty of walks in immediate area. Very comfy kingsize and single bed. Helpful owner. Will certainly visit again.

We had a fab time at Sandy Lodge for the Easter break. Lovely and relaxing. The immediate surroundings aren't picturesque but the location more than makes up for it. The lodges are very well equipped and we will definitely be coming back
