Description

An ideal touring base to explore the west coast, surrounded by stunning scenery, a walkers’ and cyclists’ paradise.

Ideally located with direct access to the shores of Loch Lihnne, this spacious, semi-detached holiday cottage, adjoining the owners’ home, has magnificent views across the sea to the Island of Lismore and the Morven Hills. On the edge of the pretty fishing village of Port Appin, and half way between Fort William and Oban the cottage is a superb base for exploring the west coast of Scotland. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery this is a popular area with walkers and cyclists. There are regular passenger ferries from the village to the Island of Lismore, Castle Stalker is nearby and the cycle track from Glencoe to Oban can be reached by crossing the Jubilee Footbridge. Oban, a small bustling fishing town with an array of shops, bars and restaurants is only a ½-hour drive. From here, take a short ferry trip to Mull, Staffa or Iona, all with an abundance of wildlife. Visit Bonawe Iron Works, Cruachan Hollow Mountain, Oban Distillery, Inveraray Jail, or the Sea Life Centre. Glencoe and Fort William are easily accessible and offer walking, mountain biking, climbing and skiing. Take the Jacobite Steam Train from Fort William across the Glenfinnan Viaduct as depicted in the Harry Potter film, or ride the gondola up Anoch Mor Mountain. Other outdoor activities in the area include horse riding, diving, sailing, canoeing, golf, mountain biking and fishing. There are also a variety of castles, gardens, and sites of historical interest to visit. Port Appin has a small village shop, post office and two small hotels with restaurants. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Superb modern house, convenient for the pub, and with glorious views across the loch to Morvern. The only improvement would be a shed or shelter for bikes.

Fabulous location, superb scenery right outside the house. Loved watching a group of deer walking past early one morning, it was magical. The house was beautiful, very well equipped and was a very pleasant temperature the whole time.

Lovely modern accommodation. We'll placed to explore up to glen coe and Firtwilliam or down to Oban. Short stroll to local village. The owners live next door. Miriam was lovely- helped with all our needs, even shared their locally source wild mushrooms. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Pretty cottage with lovely view of the sea, mountains and sheep. Modern, clean and spacious, very well equipped kitchen. Calm with only a couple of other houses nearby. Port Appin is 10 min walk away. Local small grocery shop and a seafood restaurant. Lovely walks in the area and also well situated for drives to Glencoe (30 min), Oban etc.

A restful few days away from it all. If you are looking for a remote place and stunning scenery this is a great place.

The cottage was very clean, light and airy. It had everything you could need and things were of a very high standard. The views were wonderful looking out over the estuary. We especially enjoyed the sunsets. We had a wonderful relaxing holiday. Thank you.

We stayed at this cottage for a week in June and it was absolutely gorgeous. The property itself has been done to such a high standard and there was nothing we needed. the location and the views are incredible and we managed to get out and about from this property due to its location. The owners live next door and we had no intrusions during our stay. They were so helpful and left us alone to enjoy their beautiful property. The photos do not do it justice. I would highly recommend this to anyone and I would definitely go again in the future. There are no negatives at all. Simply wonderful
