"A truly magical estate to escape to and unwind..."

High in the Devon hills above the Taw/Torridge estuaries Webbery Manor Estate is an oasis of rural tranquillity. Steeped in history and with several noteworthy owners, Webbery Manor Estate was first mentioned in the Doomsday Book. It was given to Nicholas the Crossbowman, by a grateful William the Conqueror as a Saxon manor. In the 17th century it passed to the Lippincott family, one of whom set sail with the Mayflower flotilla to settle in America. In the 18th century, John Cutcliffe, the grandson of the owner, fought at the battle of Waterloo and was personally promoted by the Duke of Wellington.
Set in 30 acres of parkland and woods, with grazing sheep, deer, owls, pheasant, birds of prey and other wildlife. The delightful gardens have numerous specimen trees and banks of rhododendrons giving a spectacular spring display. While the organic walled kitchen gardens grow some more unusual varieties of vegetables to the UK. You will find Romanesco, Cavelo Nero, and Pink Fir Apple potatoes to name a few, all complimentary subject to season and availability.
The upper wings of the Coach House have been converted into two elegant apartments, one of which is Luppincott Chambers. Accessed via a central oak staircase, the entrance hall is flooded with light from the belvedere atop the roof, and the panoramic window above the stairs. The charming sitting room has period Regency style furniture, antiques, and duel aspect windows giving views over the walled garden, parkland and towards Exmoor. With French door leading onto a spacious roof terrace, perfect for al fresco dining or enjoying your morning coffee. The regency style kitchen/dining room has everything you need to cook a romantic meal. Snuggle down in the luxurious double bedroom with its Victorian brass bed, wood floors, plush linens and en-suite bathroom.
The wonderful Marwood Hill is always worth a visit, a leisurely way to spend a day, where every season brings a different vista. With Camellias and Magnolias in spring, Rhododendrons, flowering trees, and a bog garden home to a multitude of ducks and multi-coloured carp. Fishing and horse riding can be found within 5 miles. Shops and pubs 5 miles.

A wonderful experience with bottle of very tasty wine and even tastier scones to welcome us. Very picturesque and peaceful estate complete with wonderful help yourself kitchen gardens, lovingly tended vegetables. The accommodation is charmingly eccentric with all mod cons, very clean linen and towels, comfy beds, lovely bathrooms. Spent most evenings on patio listening to birdsong and stargazing. Couches a little tired but comfy cushions saved the day. Many repeat visitors in book testify to this wonderful venue.

One of our best ever holidays! The cottage was absolutely stunning and the estate was beautiful, the children thought it was amazing. Kevin and Katie the owners are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. We are already planning our second visit next year.

Had a lovely time at Luppincott if I had to be picky the shower was in need of a good pump , and kingsize duvet would have been nice instead of two singles, would have mentioned this to Katy but did n't see her last few days, everything else was was very nice .

It did not help that the weather was so wet, but we had a most enjoyable stay.
