A wonderful holiday ....ideal for our dog but unfortunately cut short due to severe snow....would revisit though as the cottage has everything you need and was very comfortable.

An excellent property and so dog friendly. Very well equipped, clean and comfortable lots of extras added with wonderful welcome pack and a constant supply of bird food which attracted so many birds. A little isolated and remote but good walks from the door.

Wonderful peaceful cottage, the best we have stayed in, and we have stayed in dozens. Everything was perfect in the cottage and a welcome pack of goodies was left for us as well. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. There was an ample supply of logs and the house was lovely and warm. Cannot fault it.

This is one of the best dog friendly cottages we have ever stayed in. The owners have pretty much thought of everything from throws to towels and spare dog necessities. This is a good sized cottage and we had 4 adults and 2 kids for some of the time and there was plenty of space. Clean bedding, comfy beds and sofa with plenty of room to sit. The kitchen was well equipped and the welcome hamper was a real treat. The garden is in sections so the dog could be safe, a smaller garden and then opening up into a little field and also access to the stream. Each section is fenced off. Only one worry was our Labrador took to walking along a little wall between the garden and the stream but she never jumped over it. The location is superb, so quiet and peaceful. I marked it 8 for amenities as you are a long way from them but then that was the idea so it didn't matter. The New Inn, Cropton, is the closest pub. It is dog friendly and we booked twice (over the 2 weeks) as although dog friendly they can only go in the bar area. Food was good but even better they brew their own beer. We arranged a Tesco delivery to meet us at the cottage, my advice is to put the directions from your booking confirmation to help the poor delivery driver out as it is quite a steep hill and there is no phone signal (pure bliss) This is a perfect location to visit so many brilliant places, no more than an hour from Whitby, Scarborough, York. Fully recommend Eden Camp and English Heritage Membership.
