An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

Description

A short drive from the coast, and in the heart of the Broads, this delightful thatched cottage makes a wonderful holiday base.

Low Farm Cottage is a charming, Grade II listed, thatched property which was built in 1732, and was originally three farm cottages. Over the years, it has been altered into one detached cottage that oozes character, and there is a feature illuminated, glass-covered well in the conservatory. It lies adjacent to the owners’ home in the village of Blofield with its village pub and shops, in the heart of the Broads. There is also a 9-hole golf course, driving range and a crazy golf course for children in the village. The historic city of Norwich is 8 miles away with its famous cathedrals, museums, theatres, cobbled streets, timber-framed buildings and array of cafes and shops, and the lovely, unspoilt beaches of the North Norfolk and East Coast are just a short drive. The many places to explore include Strumpshaw Fen, an RSPB reserve which is a delight for walkers and nature lovers, and Fairhaven Gardens, 3 miles. There are also several National Trust properties in the region and three heritage railways: The North Norfolk Railway, The Mid Norfolk Railway and the Bure Valley Railway. Hire a boat at Wroxham or Brundall and spend a relaxing day exploring the waterways. If you wish to travel a little further afield, Cambridge, famous for its universities, and the market towns of Beccles and Bungay in Suffolk are well worth seeing. Walking, bird watching, fishing (seasonal, licence required) and cycling are all available locally. Shop and pub 550 yards, restaurant 1½ miles.

Lovely cottage with everything you need. Could do with a dressing table with mirror to do hair and make up in blue room upstairs. Good location and close to broads and Norwich. Would stay again.

A warm, welcoming and very comfortable cottage. A real home from home, ideally situated for Norwich, the Broads and the coast.

When we booked this cottage it looked amazing but it was even better when we first saw it with our own eyes. It is simply stunning and quirky with a lot of the character from the old cottages still retained but coupled with modern comforts. One of the first things we saw was the beautiful flowers, wine and marmalade left by the owners and Ann popped over to make sure everything was ok. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was amazing with the claw foot bath. The only downside we found was the road to the front of the property can get quite busy at certain times and the limited site lines makes exiting the driveway quite hairy so perhaps a mirror opposite could be considered but this would not put us off staying here again especially with everything Norfolk has to offer for all ages.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage! We had a wonderful stay here. The house has everything you need, is very comfy, the decor is gorgeous and the garden is beautiful. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating and made us feel particularly welcome. I stayed here with my little boy and baby and it was a very child friendly. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

A beautiful cottage situated in a lovely semi rural area overlooking wheat fields. This place was just perfect and was even nicer than the website. A very relaxing place for our stay, would highly recommend it.

Very well presented and furnished holiday let. Tastefully decorated and well equipped, definitely a class above many of the places we have stayed in. Would be very happy to return.

Claire, Margaret, Joyce, Oliver and I have stayed in many different rental properties over the years and this was by far the best. Ann and Bob were extremely hospitable, they have a lovely home and were on hand if we needed anything. The cottage is beautifully decorated, spacious and was ideal for us with an elderly relative. It is in a really good location, close to the A47 and local amentities

Nice cottage in a nice quiet area. Entrance to drive is quite tight and you need to reverse in from a busy country road but other than this we had a great time
