Two luxury cottages nestled in a delightful tranquil setting in the North York Moors National Park

Found lots of areas that had not been cleaned thoroughly such as toys left under settee sweet wrappers in bedroom and cobwebs and cupboards not cleaned after other guests. The access road is very steep and muddy and cannot walk to Staithes distance is much further than 2 miles as stated - there were only 2 wine glasses so we had to go out and buy some - which had been mentioned in a previous review but not actioned - also paint peeling off bathroom walls, TV in upstairs snug did not work and mist if the games had pieces missing - such a shame because it could be a great rural retreat if a little care and attention to detail applied. But we did have a nice warm cosy stay and it's a nice social open living area.

Over all it was a fantastic stay, we all loved the barn. There were just a couple of things which we would have liked, such as we needed more towels as one each for a week just wasn't enough, the hot water kept running out before we had all showered/bathed. Access to wifi would have made things better too but I guess the barns remote location hinders that a bit. Beyond these issues, a fabulous place to get away for a week, this is our second time staying at the barn.

Spent an enjoyable week in Yorkshire with my family of eight. It was homely and comfortable. But by no means luxury has discribed! It was clean and tidy. Had all the basic amenities one needs for cooking. I suppose my biggest disappointment was the lack of seating in the lounge area. There are no photos of this part of the lounge, so I emailed so ask if there were enough seating for eight. The reply I got was YES! There is a two seater sofa, a three seater sofa, and one chair. Total six not eight. Of course this won't be a problem if you only have six people staying. There are also two foot stools that. children could sit on. So just be aware of that. Also the views. The views directly from the barn are not that great. If you go outside and walk around the other farm buildings the views are beautiful. We presumed this was the garden referred to in the description. No seating in the garden area though. So had to stand to enjoy the views. Even a bench would be nice. The two down stairs bedrooms were nice. Very small windows, that made it feel a little dungeon like. The upstairs bedroom, (single bed with a pullout underneath) would not sleep two comfortable. There is literally no room to even get in and out of bed when using both beds. Once again only a problem if there are eight of you. Bathrooms, two, one up, one down. Very basic. Have to adjust the shower water manually. No shower upstairs. To sum up it's not luxury by any means. And shouldn't even be in the discription. I won't be returning.

The cottage was everything we wished for, maybe slightly too few wine glasses :-) but the outstanding setting and view made up for that. The open plan and dining table for 10 made for great dinners after a day of sight seeing at the coast or The Moors.

Fabulous house. We had a family holiday with grown up children, baby and dogs. We really enjoyed the house, everything you want for cooking family meals, the living space was fantastic. Downstairs toilet was very useful, the boot/cloakroom was great for drying off dogs and boots and storing the beer. Bedrooms were attractive with enough storage. Bathrooms fine. Good supply of fuel for the lovely stove ( we turned down the central heating to use it) Things to improve are more and matching wine glasses, downstairs shower needs to be manually regulated. The travel cot does require you to bring your own mattress. These are things I am being picky about and did not detract from our holiday. Nice walk to Staithes across the gorgeous countryside, 5 miles return.
