Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Perfect for fishing and outdoor enthusiasts with woodland walks from the doorstep and a lake nestled in the grounds.

Once the home of ‘The Looker’, who kept a watchful eye over Little Downash Farm, this well-presented, detached holiday cottage is now an excellent base for a coarse fishing holiday, with a lake situated within the owner’s 20 acre farmland grounds. It is also perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, and there are woodland walks on the doorstep.
Explore the glorious East Sussex countryside via a 5-mile drive through the lanes, across the unspoilt Pevensey Levels (a Site of Special Scientific Interest) and across to Pevensey Bay, a haven for smugglers during the 18th century. The Romans arrived here first, followed later by William Duke of Normandy who turned the Roman fort into Pevensey Castle, whose substantial ruins you can visit today. The inspiring 31-mile 1066 Walk starts at Pevensey Castle through to Herstmonceux - don’t miss the hands-on Science Observatory with over one hundered interactive exhibits and restored telescopes. The walk then continues through Battle and across to the medieval Cinque Port Town of Rye. Why not venture over to Drusillas, where you can be a zoo keeper for the day, or Knockhatch Adventure Park with its ski and snowboard centre. Visit Eastbourne with its excellent sunshine record and International Airshow in August, or Beachy Head and the South Downs National Park which are all within easy driving distance. Leisure pool at Hailsham, 1 mile, riding and golf available on-site. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

All on the ground floor.

The cottage was very lovely - very clean, comfortable and homely. The cottage had most of the things we needed, so it felt like home. The area was very quiet as well so we felt relaxed. Overall, a great stay!

Amazing holiday, need transport to go anywhere as location on a farm, but excellent location , plenty of places within 20 to 40 minutes drive lots of sea , Eastbourne my favourite town. The cottage was perfect. Owner was lovely, nothing an issue " true animal lover, after my own heart". Well worth a second visit, East Sussex had everything for all ages.

Perfect if you want to get away from it all - but if you have teenagers, the WiFi works best in the kitchen.

Really enjoyed the break but the current living room furniture isn't really big enough for 4 adults.

One of the highlights was the friendly farmer showing us a three day old Shetland pony. Quiet location - car needed but coast easily accessible. Good facilities in cottage.
