Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

A cosy cottage with a sea view, this property is just 250 yards from a sandy beach and within easy reach of many attractions.

Only a 250-yard walk from the beautiful sandy beach of Whitesand Bay, this charming little row of three delightful and comfortably furnished holiday cottages commands magnificent views over the bay and Sennen Cove. On a quiet lane leading only to the cliffs, they have been very tastefully converted from a spacious Victorian house and are stunningly set in several acres of shared natural grounds; home to a wonderful variety of wildlife which can easily be seen from the steep beach path and the cottages themselves.
The beach at Whitesand is magnificent; a splendid mile of sand which has been awarded Blue Flag status and is excellent for surfing (lifeguards operate throughout the summer, and there is also a ban on dogs from 1st May to 30th September. Dogs are permitted year round on nearby Gwenver Beach). Sennen Cove (½ mile) is a picturesque little fishing village looking out over the bay. It offers shops, pub, restaurants – even a lifeboat station – all within walking distance. There are some beautiful walks along the coast towards Cape Cornwall in one direction, and beyond Land’s End in the other.
The famous outdoor Minack Theatre is only 3 miles away and Penzance (7 miles) boasts a mainline station, shops, inns, swimming-pool, sailing and tennis. There is a golf course at St Just (4 miles) and facilities for squash and badminton are available locally. Picturesque St Ives (a renowned haunt of artists) is 15 miles away along the spectacular north coast.
The Carn Towan cottages are perfectly positioned for enjoying a Cornish holiday – and are cosily heated throughout, with double glazing, making them ideal for all-year-round breaks. Shops ½ mile.

A lovely romantic cottage for two set between Bishop Rock and Sevenstones. Entrance into fully fitted kitchen with breakfast area. Living/dining room with sea view. Cloakroom with toilet. First floor: Pretty double bedroom with sea view, en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

This was a great place to take a break in a stunning location, we were very pleased with our choice and will certainly be returning. We found that there was nothing, that next time we said we must take with us. The cottage was cosy warm for early in the year and very comfortable.

Lovely location. Cottage is small but very nice. Rather too much Febreze, bio detergent etc - these exacerbate allergies. Bed hard. Very welcoming. Good atmosphere.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. Since your visit we've added a mattress topper, so it's softer now. The scent you detected was an air freshener plugged into an electric socket which you could simply have removed. Our housekeeper was probably concerned in case there might still be a slight doggy smell remaining from the previous visitors when she'd finished cleaning - you can soon become accustomed so she wouldn't have been sure.

Brilliant holiday, but the mattress needs replacing, very uncomfortable, entrance hall could do lick of paint plus front door, love the area, very beautiful, regards Gill & Pete.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. The mattress is fairly new but is perhaps firmer than yours at home; we will add a topper for those who prefer a softer feel. The property is high above the Atlantic, sometimes buffeted by storms, and so does require regular redecoration of exposed areas, like the entrance. However paint does not dry here in the few hours available between lets (there were no vacancies at all between 30th January and 17th December) so we have to do this during our scheduled winter-maintenance period. Sorry if it looked a little drab in that area near the end of the year.

We stay at Longships every year....the view is outstanding and the private access to the beach is great for families or if you are looking to surf as you don't need to find a parking space! The cottage is very clean and has everything we need from washing machine, dishwasher, freeview and wifi. We love it as we can bring our three dogs who have access to the gardens and there is also a dog friendly beach next to the main beach at Sennen Cove, which is only a short 5 min walk. We love it there......and booked again for 2017!

We have stayed here 6 times and have already booked for next year. So that should be testament for a wonderful cottage with spectacular views.
