Beautiful village location, but a bit of trek across country to some locations. Warm cosy cottage with very comfortable beds. TV too small for the lounge and although it was a smart TV we were unable to access the smart hub. DVD player which was good, but no DVD's supplied, other cottages we have stayed at have provided a range of DVD's. Cooking equipment was seriously lacking. Only 2 very small saucepans, no chopping board, blunt knives, and a can opener that didn't work. Lots of tourist leaflets on display & in drawers which was good, but a lot of these were out of date.

Had a lovely stay, very old cottage and staff friendly and nothing was to much trouble. You need a car but central to all Wilshire wonders.

A wonderful, quirky little cottage in a great location. Very comfortable bed, we slept like logs! Yes there is a little noise from the pub kitchen sometimes (only noticeable downstairs) but this is more than offset by the proximity of this great pub serving excellent food - the staff were very friendly too and were most concerned to make sure we were happy with the accommodation. The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday - although a teapot would be a welcome addition!

There place can be warm due to the efficient heating, the beds are comfortable and the bedrooms are of a good size. The shower/en-suite is small but adequate. The entrance is dingy and passes the Pubs kitchen before the front door. There is some noise from the kitchen. The house is dark and need the lights to be on, it is old so acceptable. However several of the light bulbs were missing and the ones above the cooker made cooking more difficult. This was made worse by the lack of a roasting tin and a grill tray. We asked for a peeler and tin opener and were provided with one of each. The next day we were asked for the opener back! Was it adequate just, but poor value for money. I have concerns about the fire exit and disposal of rubbish.

    Response from: administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. As described this property is attached to a pub and there is a corridor adjoining the pub kitchen to the cottage, we have not had any previous complaints. This is a 400 year old building with small windows and low ceiling so sometimes the lights do need to be on. Household items for example light bulbs are available on the cleaning rack which are shown to guests upon arrival, or are always available from us in the Pub 24 hours a day. Apologies if there was a problem with the peeler we have checked these are in place in the cottage.

Lovely, cosy, quiet cottage. Very friendly people, handy location for visiting the area. Very clean & comfy beds, even the fold-out one. A few minor issues -shower head not good in the large bedroom & water didn't drain well; not enough kitchen equipment for 5 people - only 4 mugs, no cereal bowls, only 2 small pans. The kitchen bin was full when we arrived. No phone signal and wi-fi didn't work in the cottage but we had a great holiday and enjoyed playing the board games in the evenings.

This is a great little cottage to stay in and the bonus is the pub is right next door! We spent some valuable relaxing time staying here and really enjoyed every minute. The pub serves lovely meals (even for a vegetarian like me) and has a very enjoyable atmosphere. the owners were very accommodating. This is a lovely little village with some interesting walks and features. It is easy to reach the major towns and sights and great base for anyone who wishes to explore this county. We would recommend a stay at this cottage (and you never know, we may even return there one day too).
